Actually, to be honest, my MR was not as fast as the other MR's on the road when it was stock. This was mainly because of elevation issues.
Isn't he close to the same elevation as you? You are both in Az., so the heat is about the same.

The answer to your question about my launches, when I first got my MR I was doing average of 2.2s 60feet, then I started launching it more agressively and I dropped to the 2.0s 60ft. Finally I removed the switch for the 5k rev limiter and that got me into the 1.7's being a 1.706 my best so far.
Wow, so going from just under 5k to over 5k gave you a .3 second better launch! I guess I better pull that switch and see what I can really do. Thanks for the tip!

I think that I am a quick shifter, I am not new to the track, I have been taking my cars to the track for many years.
That's cool, I didn't mean you can't drive or anything. In my experience so far, Evo owners seem to know thier cars and have at least decent driving skills. I would love to see the JDM auto Evo come over here. Imagine a 3500 stall and lots of boost off the line!

This is the 2nd time you've COMPLETELY IGNORED the facts behind a situation (#1 was me being "stuck" in the 1s", #2 was how I got screwed by his quick-stage). Right after I got back from the Shootout, I talked about what happened without any disparaging remarks whatsoever. I never got mad, but I did mention WHY I OBVIOUSLY TOOK OFF NEARLY A SECOND LATER in the video that got posted all over the place. Have you seen it? No, probably not. Go look at "Tospeed Evo #1" or whatever, and you'll see me leave the line way late. That was ALL BECAUSE of the whole staging problem. I didn't get mad; I didn't complain. I _did_ explain the reason. The ONE comment you are whining to mommy about was like the 3rd or 4th time I explained it, and it was just a figure of speech. I said "stinkin'" and even used the apostrophe on the end to denote slang. I did not say, "That ******* muthertrucker in the Topspeed Evo blah blah." So, get your panties out of a wad and PLEASE don't waste 18k on the car. I know you've already wasted 10k, but hopefully you wisen up and do better the next time around. If you know the Topspeed guys so well, then I'm _SURE_ you can get your car built up nice and fast without spending such a ridiculous amount of money. Those guys know what they're doing...

since you know everything there is to know do you know why i have had to spend so much money??????? no, genius you don't so let me enlighten your high and almighty self. i bought my car when they first were available here and knew nothing about the car. all i knew is that i like it and i wanted it and that was my perogative so i bought it. the clutch went so i had some rinky dink shop install a 6puck pos into it and when they gave it back to me the transmission case was busted and jb welded together and was missing numerous bolts from the transfer case and the tranny. the problem is that i didn't find that out until it broke again and i took it to boost solutions which is now gone due to well you look that up. i had to get the tranny welded and the holes retapped and all kind of bs. then one day a wiild hair was up my butt and i drove through a big puddle and got water logged in my engine which messed up a piston ring and led to me breaking a piston skirt completely off. i had to get my engine rebuilt. that wasn't the cheapest thing to have done. now on top of all that i've done several mods which i'm not gonna list and paid the same that every other normal consumer does. i have expensive mods like the ems for example. back when i first started running 11s not many were. there were the shop cars and a handle for more but that was it so we had something going that most didn't. my time is not that impressive to me or anyone now a days, but i havent made a pass in almost a year now.

18k??? well let's see, if you do everything it adds up. i am building the head and block, building the tranny,axels, triple plate clutch, ignition system, fuel, suspension, brakes, slicks, rollcage, coilovers, everthing i can think of to get it the way i want it not you. i should be paying more , but TOPSPEED is helping me out a lot with cost and labor. Doug is my closest friend and we have been through a lot together with the whole EVO thing.

Reguardless of what you say my car will be one of those cars that you wish you had , but for whatever reason won't. i normally wouldn't rub that in someone's face, but that is how you are and maybe you can't take a taste of your own medicine.

WHOOPTEEDOO guy. there are plenty of people who have little mods done to thier MRs and run that. it doesn't take much for that model. you have a way more efficient stock turbo.

Many people cared how good I did. Many people were waiting to see if I could hit 11s or even if I could simply match my claimed times. I didn't do the former, but I did the latter.

I don't recall any speech where I said all odds were against me. I don't know where you're getting this stuff, but you sure like to embellish.

So, again, when did I say nothing was my fault and that people attack me for no reason? Do you sit there at your computer and just make these things up, or did they come to you in your dreams? I'm not sure which one is more likely here...

 

Who said 12s? I run 12.1. I ran "12s" with just an S-AFC. If I were really good, I would have hit 12s stock, but my 13.1 was with a 1.92 60' due to the 5k launch limiter.

Please, find me these "plenty of people" who have little mods done to their MRs and run 12.1. I would absolutely LOVE to see this list. Considering we already HAVE a list of top MRs on the EvoMR board, and the only other two to hit 12.0 and 12.1 both have cams and a LOT MORE done to theirs, I would tend to think you have no f'n clue what you're talking about. The next closest guy to do anything significant with as few mods is DragNRacing with a 12.34 at 108.9, and he's definitely no slouch. His times aren't normal either.

Making up things on the fly is not your forte'...

 

I was sorry to hear youve spent 8-10k and only gone so fast. But I was thinking and maybe you meant total like stereo body kit wheels etc so forget that. However if you did spend 8k and only go 11.9, that sucks.

I haven't read half of this BS honestly. The bickering is aweful. I think some of you need to realize that Warrtalon is a VERY good driver for not being a pro. Not only that, but numerous times on this board he's tried to help people with their driving, including myself (which broke me into the 12s).

His advice may seem harsh, but it's his way of communicating, and can probably be attributed to the Marine Corps that led him into adulthood, I don't know though, I don't know the guy IRL, it's just a guess.

He has a quick and dirty method, and doesn't sugar coat it. Some of you need thicker skin.

Warrtalon contributes more to this board, and other evo tuning boards then 99.9% of you combined. He has not hit a hole in one, he has continually set the marker higher for guys like myself to be a better driver and not just throw money at the car.

On top of all this, he does his own tuning, very cheaply, and very effectively. I have easily spent 5x what Warrtalon has in modifications, and I'm no where near the times he's running. That is why I said he is PROVEN. I have watched the video of him running 12.4@97, I honestly didn't need proof anyway, you can tell that he's the real deal just by the information he posts.

Maybe all of you are just riding the cotton pony this week or something. Personally I'm disgusted.

i'd have to say that good contributers on these forums is Buschur and people like Metaphysical. a good contributer isn't a smart **** last time i checked, but wtf do i know. i just waste too much money on my car, right?
