one very noticeable difference to me with the cars is how they feel. the STI, with mods in particular is a car that you will hear more (boxer engine) and sense (turbo kick). Evo to me, seems almost "smooth" by comparison.

eitherway, you will be happy with STI or EVO, both very good cars.

So the 2007 STi's actually have 300hp as billed?

if you gonna get an evo, now is the time, consider that the car is off production.man im getting scared knowing that the 9s are gonna be gone soon. 5 more months and ill be able to buy one if they have any left in stock here, hopeing for black.

as for what car to get, well thats all on you, just consider this. what is the pecentage of the time you will be using the car for, mostly track or mostly for commute? also think, well you HIGHLY mod your car? can you afford the insureance on the evo? are you looking for a performing car or a fun car? do you have other expensive hobbies besides cars?

things to consider.

One of the reasons i went with my Evo over the Sti was that the Sti is slower and it sounds like my old lawn mower

I did alot of research on evo's and wrxs...and from the wrx forums, I have read their trannys don't like power...so that is something to think about.

I personally would go for an Evo (what I decided from comparing, and am currently pricing them out)

you are absolutely correct. WRX's dont like stress of more power being added to their tranny but an STi on the other hand is complely different.

Ahh the boxer sound...sweet music to the ears...I love it...always have since I owned my Evo.

In regards to the seats on the STi, the 2007 Limited that I have is a definate improvement over the prior years, I will admit the seats are still not as form fitting as Recaro's in the Evo, so yes that is a + for the Evo. I wish they would have stuck those Recaros in the STi Limited.

In regards to the STi being slower, I don't agree with that statement at all, stock for stock it all comes down to the driver. Modified...it will depend...the 2007's have some improvements in the 6spd. gearing, engine head cooling/flowing, and wastegate so the potential is there to make alot more power.

Either way you can't go wrong with your decision.

I would agree, get an Evo or STi now before the new model changes occur. I don't like what I am seeing on either side with the new Evo and STi including the hatchback only rumors.

we can go on and on about them, but its up to you on what floats your boat.
Take them both for a test drive and then decide
