jerking while cruising in 1st and 2nd gear
TIMING! - you have to be good at this... you either slip the clutch
(which is not good) or skip 1st and go to 2nd gear if its
moving and shift it to neutral if the traffic is slowing down.
And when the traffic is going fast again shift it to 2nd gear
or 3rd(it depends on how fast you are going.. but u should b
good either way)just this simple step will prevent your car to
to jerk.

i get a bit of stop and go myself on my commute.. i dont have the jerking problem. its how you drive that prevents/limits that jerking. i dont bother downshifting gears, or keeping high revs in traffic at all.. keep it in the appropriate gear, and dont bother with downshifts.. if you let off the gas because traffic is slowing you have to be smooth.. but for that matter you need to be smooth on all your inputs.. clutch, gas, brake, etc..
