BTW, I never said the EVO is a good choice for a 16 year old. I don't even think 16 year olds should be allowed to drive let alone drive an EVO.
your right the maturity level is where its at, but we all know kids don't drive anything slow. Just take a look at the honda and acura forums, just go for a ride and see how many revs you get from a civic or integra. All iam saying is these kids come in here claming that they are mature and they won't street race and then you see your premiums go through the roof. Thats cause the little bastard wrecked his car and the insurance company decided to re-rate the car in general. So now we all suffer because little johnny though he could handle it. I wish the dmv would put an age restriction for atleast 18 years old, and no high performance cars untill your 21years old.

^^pekpekbuster, i like ur name haha

i havent met a 16 year old responsible enough to drive anything fast or "sporty." if you're that person, prove everyone wrong...but still, i see older people drivin like douche bags all the time. im 22 and i still sometimes get the urge to boost and go WOT on the merging lane...but most of my actual "racing" stays on the track.

I know you are tired of hearing it but PLEASE drive the car for a while before you modd it. Yes they are fast, but it can be controlled with constant effort. Do your self a favor go to a driving school, learn how to handle the car, and dont let your friends ride with you for a while. This can be a lot of fun or it can be deadly. Please be smart!!!

Well, I am the polar opposite of you. I'm almost 61 years old. Take your time. Be patient and read a lot on these forums before spending your allowance money on mods. Do like someone else mentioned and take driver prep courses, or get a Big Brake upgrade kit. Above all else, try to keep the shiny side up.

Don't in courage him, he's 16 yrs old. He needs to learn how to drive the car first b4 he starts going crazy and get the car to where he can't handle it and hurt him self and other's.

Man 16yrs old, I was hardly able to get enough dough for my evo 8 at 19, but still I agree with most of this guys, first bov, not really good mod if its a vta, remember sound doesn't always equal performance, next I would go to guys like buschur racing or AMS those guys would def. be able to teach and point u in the right direction, I previously owned a 96 eclipse gst, so I already had knowledge about the 4g63 which was why I was so comfortable buying n evo, n like everybody said learn the limit n how to drive the car, stock evo's are pretty fast already, n when driven right can rival even high end cars then figure out what u want, such as top end power, quick response etc, oh yeah, radar detector is def. a good mod lol

Congrats on the Evo buddy!!! Yes, so, forget about modding the car, you should start on saving enough money for all of the maintenance your car will need, like clutch($500+not including install) , tires($600+for cheap ones), timing belt+balance belt($150+ not including install) might as well change out the water pump while you are at it($180), among other things...

My first car at sixteen was a 95 eclipse gsx, and i ran the crap out of it, jumped it, j-turned it, , street raced it out in ontario ca alot!! all to impress my friends, my poor 95 finally had enough of me and died sadly and withered away in my garage. Great way to waste 20k!!!

Be safe, dont drink and drive, dont do drugs, stay in school, brush your teeth, eat a well balanced diet,......hehe
