anyone know if Canton (CM) has a filter that will fit the Evo? I use Mobil 1 but my car has almost no miles at all. I will be switching to Amsoil shortly. Do a search and read all the oil analysis that were done comparing all these oils.

And he has been doing it since 1972, hmmm, thats when Amsoil started.

If you are looking for the best filter, use the AMSOIL EA Series filter as well... It is a 15 Micron Absolute filter, WIX would be the next best and then the Mobil 1 Filter.

Joe....Yes, I did say RP is a crap oil.. answer the last sentence in my previous post.

All low bid has to do is meet minimum specs.... There is almost always something better than OEM

I currently use EAO and EAU filters. So far so good.
I plan on getting the new pre filter in January. When I drain I will post the results, this should be good enough for the masses. Expect the drain in July or so. Sorry you will have to wait.

i would have to say yes to your question because in most motorcycle they use the same oil to lubricate the engine and transmission...

what is your point?

The point was so you can look and see how poor a job Royal Purple does in comparison tests done by independent labs..

Royal Purple has been and remains a low quality synthetic shearing out of grade before the first sequence in testing...

And, as stated by someone else, you can also find those facts all over the internet by people who have done their own testing.

I bought the new Q fully syn oil. I saw the advertisement in the magazine and it uses Ferrari 430 in the background. So I think Ferrari uses them too.

Do you also believe that Race cars and vehicles that have XYZ Oil all over them actually use that oil... Just for instance in NASCAR, the former Valvoline Car ?

Now, I am not saying that they don't have it in the Ferrari, but you do know that if it is in there, Ferrari most likely get's the oil for free and a nice check for advertising.

Just like Mobil 1 and GM.... then they get the repeat business from people that think "If the engineers at so and so think it is good enough, it is good enough for me" Where the Engineers don't have a thing to do with brand of product.... They use an SAE Spec. that the oil is "supposed" to meet.

So you had a full Oil Analysis for Extended Drains performed on the oils you have used ??? The viscosity was the same on both oils before and after testing and negligable difference in wear and contamination as well ?

slightly off topic but why do you recommend staying away from K and N type air filters? And what do you recommend?

i've seen penzoil "cake-up" when i pulled a head off once. either way its just better to use what the manufacture recommends. also, just cause ferrari uses a brand doesn't mean its any good. it could just mean they were paid to say that's what they use. and keep in mind.... an evo is not a ferarri.... what if castrol said nissan used their oil in all the skylines... would u run out and buy castrol? ... just some food for thought...
