Changing Oil... What Type.. Brand Matter?
show me one case where is the normal used car broke down or got damaged because they used the factory recomend oil.
do you feel or see differnce when you driving Shell 93 or mobil 93 0r exxon 93? Honestly...
i'm using vpower only. Why? Just because its a brand name and the gas station is close to me. No scientific explonation there. No need to be...Just a habit.
You might find differences between oil ,that is for sure. But this topic is nothing but marketing.
After 5 years 99% these guys will not have they car. Even when they do ,you put those cars for test, against each other after 5 year, and you will get some mixed feelings i'm sure.
The fact is ,if you maintenece your car as you should do, you will be fine.
Now the track is different stroy. As soon as you got your "magic oil" what you using as a dd, on the track is not as good anymore.
Might be hold better then the factory, but u change that down anyway before the track day. SO...

Nobody claiming any "magic" ... It all depends on what the individual is looking for... Paying more up front for an oil and filter is not only usually less expensive in the long run, but will pay dividends such as More HP, Better Fuel Mileage, Cooler running oil temps, which help take the load off of an already stressed cooling system, and less wear for those that may keep their car... 5 years on a vehicle for me would be an easy 150,000 miles.. One of my personal vehicles has 345,000 on it...

Motul 300V, although a good oil, is an Ester based oil in which it will be outperformed by a PAO/Ester oil such as AMSOIL. Esters have their drawbacks which is one reason AMSOIL started using a PAO/Ester over 20 years ago.
I don't have a comparison Motul vs SSO, but I think I have one for the 300V 10W-40 compared to AMSOIL 10W-40 in the Motorcycle products, in which, you still have the same base stock, just with clutch performance additives.
The SSO 0W-30 is the best lubricant you can buy for an application such as the EVO if you are running stock or tight clearances. The high TBN neutralizes acidity for an extended period of time which is key in extending drain intervals.

I plan on keeping my car longer than 5 years. That's why I made a switch in oil and will do some Used Oil Analysis's to make sure my car stays in good health. I WILL report back when I get some results in, for AMSOIL SSO 0w-30
Don't get me wrong.... Ester based oils such as Motul, are very good.
Some of the drawback are, Much higher priced, can cause problems with seals on some engines, does not disipate heat as well as a PAO.
Over-all, the best performing oils will be a PAO with Esters...
