Hi everyone and how much?

Hi everyone, just signed up to the board today. Had an 05 G35 coupe but it was too slow so I sold it in '06. Been driving my tundra beater but jonesing for speed again. I've decided on a used '06 MR (new '07 leftover stock if price is right).

Question is, how much is a reasonable price for an '06 with less than 15K miles in the Orange County, CA area? Should I even buy used? Should i be concerned that some previous owner didn't follow the break-in? thanks all!!!

That's up to you. I personally, if I had the option would go with a new Evo. A lot of the old Evos are messed with in someway even if you bought it stock. You're looking for an MR, cheapest I've seen was 28K

PS: There is no 07 due to safety violations.

Thx Floopy. What were the safety violations? If ppl mess with their cars, does it make them unreliable? It seems mitsu doesnt have the best dealer network for service either.

At this point buying a new IX is very hard to do, they are pretty much all gone. As far as being used alot of people mod their evos and do take great care of them but more mod and beat their evo. You will need someone who is familiar with evos to inspect it for you

I was where you were in Aug. I flew down to South Coast in your area and bought new. That way I new how it was broken in and I could mod it my way. It just depends on what your resources are and what you want out of your car.

Yeah, i'd buy new too...there are too many variables in buying a used car with so much value in the performance/aftermarket industry.

Good advice guys and thanks! You are right, if we are talking honda civic or something, it would be okay to buy used but an evo with that turbo and all the possiblities...

Looks like I will wait for evo X

Bah, I would buy a used evo before I bought a used honda lol. I DID buy a used evo, 05, car fax has it used for 11 months, and then it went to dealer aucitons. I know it was probably beaten on (came with a boost guage and invidia exhaust). But with the engine running at 35k I'm not to worried about the break in. I had an 06 spec V that I bought brand new, 7 miles on it, went through 2 engines due to oil consumption, factory defect. If an engine is good, it is good. I wouldn't be to scared with a used evo... Unless something is noticably wrong on the test drive.
