Advice needed please!

As you know I recently purchased a 2006 Evo IX SE I've noticed that when I am down shifting while at slow mph I hear a whining noise, should I be worried, is this normal? My clutch feels fine when I am shifting through the gears no grinds the pedal feels fine. I did some searching maybe some help to a prior post that answers this?

Thanks for your time :-)

Probably just the tranny, they do whine some. That's AWD for you though.

No worries, I still have the full warrenty so I guess ill drive it till sometime breaks. :-) just wanted to know if it was something I should have checked out soon but kinda second guessing taking it to the dealer right now cuz I just installed my new exhaust 2 weeks ago and dont want to have to put the stock one back on right now (Call me lazy).

I was paranoid at first too, but I'm waiting to see how it sounds after I change the fluid in the tranny and diffs. You might do the same first, if you are really worried. If you keep and eye on the fluid you can tell if something major is wrong. Honestly it performs fine and AWD systems just make more noise. If it overtakes your stereo or something noise-wise then I'd definitely get it looked at.

Its probably your syncros if you are hearing it as you are shifting.

Sounds like a natural trans noise. Dont worry.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate all your feed back! I only notice the whining noise when I downshift mostly in 2nd and 1st. This is my first evo and I absolutly love it. Cant wait to start adding some more bolt. :-)
