Need Some Serious Advice

So I've been on here and looking around for an Evo IX MR or Evo X for the past 6 months. I've finally found an Evo IX MR SE with 22k miles and they want $25.9k + TTL. I've never seen it in person but it's at audi dealer in CA and according to the pictures it is super clean. Do you guys think this is a good price? Please help!! This could be the one!! Thanks!

And do you guys guys know how much tax on a purchased vehicle is in NC? Sales tax is 7%, but someone told me it was 3% only?? Please verify if you can!! Thanks!!!

I got my 9 SE /w 26?K miles for $24.5 about 8 months ago. I wouldn't get an MR personally after I heard about the tranny issues. Some say it's non existent but other swear on it. I think the SE is totally worth it but think you can find a better one. Get the VIN and call mitsubhsi to verify the warranty if you're serious. That's something I should have done but luckily mine's still good and I still over a little over 2 years on it.

Well, I saw the carfax and it's only had one previous owner. The dealer said it was bone stock with no mods at all, but I can't say for sure because all I've seen are a few pictures.

I'm just worried about transporting the car across the country...what taxes I'll pay in NC...what condition the car really is in...I want to fly to go see the car and just buy and drive it, but CA sales tax is ridiculous!!

I would not doubt that the car was moded and put back to stock and traded in for an audi. Good luck. If I were you I would see if you could get in touch with the owner that turned it in.

I believe you pay your county's sales tax and not where you'll buy the car.

Yes you pay your states sales tax. I just bought my evo on monday from NJ and there sales tax is 7% but i live in PA so i only had to pay 6% sales tax.

hmm...but a guy from the dealership showed me a bill of sales and he really just used 3% as the sales tax...somewhere in NC DMV's title and registration says something about dealerships charging 3% use tax or something for purchased vehicle...

Does that mean that they may only charge NC residents only 3% on a vehicle purchased??
