If you get one of those MR badges and put in on you '04 EVO VIII, it adds 50 whp and makes it handle better.
And if you take it off you loose like 50 lbs and you have a car lighter and faster than the RS!!

you're paying for the limited edition MR.

why get an SL55 AMG when you can fix up an SL500? AMG baby. no matter what you do to an SL500, it'll never be an AMG.

Of course you can take a base model and mod it to be better than the top model, and still cost less. In this case, this is possible with the MR. But if you want to put down a great track time and remain STOCK, which some people actually want to do (hard to imagine), these are the people that the MR is for.

As for the Bilsteins being softer, the car still handles as good or better, you just don't get beat up over every pothole or road imperfection.
Just returned to Calif. from picking up my MR at BHenkel's Mesa, AZ dealership this morning. Made the deal over the phone with what turned out to be a 1st class operation. They picked me up at the airport and within 2 hrs. was on my way. Highly recommend BHenkel and his crew. Took rural 2-lane roads for 1st 200 miles and then 400 miles of freeway running my break-in routine. My only comparison is with an Evo VIII I drove a few hours earlier this year but the ride and road noise is much better than I remember, better than expected and better than a few high performance sports cars I drove this summer. Little road noise and no thumping over the expansion joints and bridge potholes common on Calif. freeways. I got home without the usual "beat-up" feeling from driving other sports cars all day. Didn't push handling so can't comment but will now that I've got some miles on it. Based on this trip, the MR should make for a great everyday driver. A few other comments: 6th gear = 3,000 rpm @ 70 mph, hate looking at on-coming HID lights but like them from behind the wheel, like the dash controlled headlight height adjustment - can project the beam way down the road when necessary, MR gauge package is white back lit which is easier for me to see than red, but the boost gauge, althought easiest to see on the far right when hands on the wheel, is still hard to read and would be better on the dash, great seat, driving position, simple controls (death to iDrive) - and a quiet, tight ride combined with amazing performance - even on a break-in trip. After one long day, maybe the best car I've owned.

Besides all that mentioned above the MR has:

HID standard
Teflon coated cables
MR package wich is worth $800(carbon fiber parking brake handle, aluminium pedals, aluminium shifter)
The MR comes with the triple pod
Traction control
Not only that the 6 speed is much better but the clutch is redesigned and beefier

To me worth the money...

Traction control? You're kidding, right? This ain't no German car. Zero traction control, lots of traction.

How about send me a doc to prove all these improvements are in MR and
MR only? My info are based on public information from Mitsubishi website.

Yes, the clutch is different than the 5spd. They are totally different part numbers. If you want I can post part numbers tomorrow when I get to work. The only thing he posted that is inncorrect is traction control. Now if the 6spd is better than the 5spd. Who knows?...time will tell. But for the most part he is correct!

Basically you are paying for the wheels, 6 speed, suspension, interior stuff, and the vortex gen. Are you a penny pincher? Get the RS or the GSR. Do you want a 6 speed and some extra goodies and dont mind spending the cash? Get the MR. Hell I am getting it just for the 6 speed. Regardless, many MR's wont stay stock. So if your mentality is, "O ill mod mine and smoke stock MR's," congrats, you do that.

Im gonna laugh when you pull up to me expecting that.

Now on to the more sensible chatter.

If you like the MR, you like the color, you like the options...Go for it, it will make you happier in the long run because its what you wanted.

If it just doesnt appeal to you, dont get it, dont make posts about it, dont talk about it, and basically stay away from it lol. I dont see the logic in some people's minds.
