oh wow u people think u know alot? lol ... i live in glendale (LA)... when evo first came out.. it was 20 k mark up.. now its like 5... and 3... when the mr came out.. dealer wanted 8g's mark up .. i told them to shove it.. i went to Santa Maria and got a Mr for sticker price.. dOnt even talk about mark up.... and u say u want footage... i dont need footage.. i beat those cars.. i ran a 13.0 at tracks stock.. im spending 400 for dyno flash and im gettn anywhere from 25-50 wheel horspower with my intake and boost control... im spending jack and gettn alot for it... i dont care .. i like my cars color/ vortex generator/sick rims/ no sun roof.... and THERE ARE ONLY 600 IN THE US.. i got it to b unique.. not to be like everyone else.. why do u think i got smoked color... MR= 600 in US .. 400 in canada... So im 1 of 600 ... now thats unique...

 

400 in canada, there are no evo's in canada.
1000 is the minimum amount produced i'm sure they're making more.
MSRP is the highest anyone should pay for the MR; people are getting pretty good markdowns on them

 

Wow you must be a great driver. I keep telling people that Motor Trend got 13.0 out of an 03 Evo. You seem to be one of the few who achieved it. Although there have been reports of 12.9's.

 

I'm not denying that it is unique or that it's slightly better/faster than regular
Evo. But these "uniqueness" doesn't worth the extra $5000 in my book.. though
it might be worth it to you...

If you're happy with your Evo... thats all that matters.

All Evos rock! The MR has a few nice goodies on it that make it cost more. Some people feel they are worth it, some don't - luckily, people have choices...I chose the MR, and I don't regret my choice. I felt the difference between them, and it made me lean towards the MR. Drive them both and decide for yourselves...

I know I've said this before, on one of the other 6 billion threads about this topic, but I don't care if the MR is worth it to anyone else. I was worth it to me. There is something to be said about having the least common color of a uncommon model of an already fairly rare car. I like ... actually I love ... my 6MT. Honestly I don't notice the aluminum roof, or the nipples on the roof. I like the suspension, it is nice. I REALLY DON'T CARE IF YOU LIKE IT!

I like it. If you want it, buy it. If you don't understand why people buy them, get over it. This is a stupid comparison to have. There are very few MRs left for sale, and I'm sure they will all sell, and they will all sell because people like me are willing to pay more for them.

This weak argument "Nur nur nur, you could save money to sink it back into the car nur nur nur" is STUPID. Or this assumption that people who have MRs get them and don't intend to modify them. Wait to EvoWorld opens in San Rafael. You'll see me there.

I can't really explain why these comparisons are getting so irritating and tiresome to me, I think it has something to do with the fact that I get it when people buy rare cars. I get it why people pay $50,000 more for a Ford GT that is white with blue stripes over one that is white. I get it why it is nice to have a yellow Ferrari over a red or black one. I get it why people track down a Volvo T5-R over a standar T5. I understand why people paid $8,000 more for a Dodge Viper GTS over the R/T-10. These are just some examples

If you don't already get it, you might never. Best to just not trouble yourself with it.

 

i got my 05 evo 8 gsr with sun sound(infiniti) and leather for 28,200. I think i got a better deal than the MR. I think they're more willing to negotiate especially at the end of the month. i plan on putting money into suspension, wheels and buying that blitz tt and boost gauge. I don't think i'll spend 7g's more

 

i know.. lLol sorry i came on too strong but i get mad... i love my car >.. and the thing is... i raced a reg evo with my car.. and im telln u .. i killed him by like 7 cars.... i ran a 13.0 at tracks on a bad take off.. i cant go crazy casue i alrdy burned my clutch in 3 weeks ^_^.. i got a new clutch already cause i Drove my car psycho from day 1... i just love to drive.. and i love my car.. and only thing i dont like about reg evos.. r the rims.. thats y i like my car.. it matches with the color ./ rims/ spoiler/ vortex generator.. ... and to that guy with the bike... ur bike cant beat my evo dyno FlAsh baby.. and u can only do 0-60 in 2.7 if u have a death wish with no wheely **** ... GOod lUck to all and safe DRIVinG!>

 

Please ease up guy I dont care what MR you have, there is no way on earth that you are beating a sportbike, not unless you're pushing over 500hp, even then you would only chew up a 600cc. I have a healthy Evo with over 500whp(not bragging,just fact) , before this car I had a ZX-12r Ninja. My bike was capable of running a 9 sec 1/4 mile , with a good rider, 10 sec with a crappy rider. My Evo will get eaten up by ANY bike pushing 1000cc's. Please think before you write down. Since you just started here let me remind you that ALL Evos are the ****, we all pretty much get along here, and we HATE those that try and divide this thing that we have established here, so be kind to those that have "regular" Evos and if you still feel like your MR is blazing fast come by for a quick run. Have fun and be carefull, alot of trashed Evos out there. On a brighter note I know and admit that the MR is the Evo to have, not because its faster but because its limited production. I would love to have an MR instead of my 03, but at this point in my life I have other priorities

Like above post states, lets not get divided. An Evolution is an Evolution. If there were no MRs, I think I would probably still buy an Evo

Evolutions are evil spirts wrapped in fiberglass and carbon fiber, the MR is just a different evil spirt. They're not really different cars, they just different trip levels, lets not forget that. I bought my MR and I paid the price (not only monitarily) by not having the stereo or sunroof that I wanted :\. While it was worth it to me, it may not be worth it to someone else. If for instance there were only RSs (not to diss RSs) availiable, I'd buy an STi. That's just because I want something particular out of these cars. The MR just fits my needs the best. I loves it.

I wouldn't trade my MR for anything . . . except that Skyline V35 I have on order.

plain and simple it's not worth the extra dough. i' spent the difference in buying the leather & moonroof instead. MR was only 500 more. BUt i wish i could've got the graphite grey. w/ SSL then i would've bought the MR.
unless it's a jdm spec mr. then it's worth the money.
