WTF do you mean plain and simple not worth the money?!

You can't say that. It may not be worth the money to you. But it quite obviously was to myself and many others. I could care less how you'd spend the money. I chose to spend the money on the MR, and it wasn't that much more. Not everybody is concerned only with SSL or speed or anything like that. People like me who bought it bought it for what it was. Don't pretend like that because it's not worth it to you, it's not worth it in general. That's just not true. Obviously.

If you are going to fudge the figure, make it a little more believable.
This equals ownage unless it's replied to soon.

MR is worth every penny People that hate are 03 owners like myself that wish I could have an MR. When I pay off my 03 I will get the EVO X even it is close to 40K. The adrenaline the EVO MR provides is worth it. If could only make all there cars AWD like EVO may be they could actually start making money.

Hahahaha... I just really want that front diff and little extra power from the 05s...
Personally... 05 EVO RS would be my choice (RS comes with aluminum roof too)..

Lightest of all USDM 05 Evos and in the same time the least expensive.

At this weekends EVO tuner shoot out... @ willow springs

1. 1:24.38 Robi - Goodyear racing slicks 275 width
2. 1:25.2 Kent Jordan 275 Hoosiers
3. 125.22 Otto driving GT40's car 275 Hoosiers
4. 1:26.2 Dieter Heinz 275 Hoosiers
5. 126.x?? John Mueller driving a customer car 275 Hoosiers
6. 1:26.3 Sparco 275 Hoosiers
Force Fed Evo 1:26.8?? 275 RA1s.

EVOLUTIONMR.NET / Fox Fuel Injection's basically stock MR w/ 255 RA1's 1:29.348

Motor Trend's MR on stock tires 1:34.38

Amazingly, the stock MR on race tires actually beat out some very modified evo. Thanks to Frank Lin's driving.

Is the MR worth it? Hmm, maybe... maybe not... But here's our bone stock EVO MR chasing down a fixed up one.

The Streets of Willow is not a power track, it is a handling track. To porve it to you, I was able to pull a 1:30.93 with an SE-R that has 153 hp and a 16 to 1 weight to hp ratio while runniing R-compound tires and with a double adjustable Koni suspension set-up. The suspension is not even as good as the Mueller JIC racing suspension that most of the EVOs ran at that event.

I do not mean this as a bash to the EVO MR, it is a great car, but the 05 EVO RS is a far better value than the MR. We are talking about 7K difference between the two. With 7K I can get a Mueller suspension and an Exede with a dump back exhaust.

the RS is a better value as a track car, but the MR is a true daily driver. ABS, power windows, radio, sound deadoning... You know basically all the features that come standard on cars since the 90's? The MR going down the track is whisper quiet, and has civil manners on the street aka no bone jarring ride.

If you want to talk bargains, how about I buy a salvaged 03' EVO for 10 k, strip it to 2800 lbs, weld a cage for $1000, get a turbo and ems $5000, moton for $5000, and with the left over buy some bling bling gold & diamond teeth? Now that's a performance bargain that can trump your RS in style!

dude guys its all taste... some of u dont like the Evo MR ..some of u do.. i for one liked it .. and got it... i love the color.. the gear ratio... and now that i got reflashed i gained 20 whp ... my car pulls sick... i was racing a 911 turbo up mmy house and i was on his *** turn for turn... ( the way to my house is in mountain and its all turns..) this guy in the 911 turbo was pissed.. he got all mad just because i was up his ***.. o bet he is gonna take his car back to the dealer and be like wtf... a 36g car kept up with me ... ya i know .. on straigh away he will own me... but turns r wat count ... im only inline 4.. but anyways.. cmon man.. its worth every penny... at stock i dynoed 247 hp/ 265 torque to the wheels... but now since i got reflashed and my boost doesnt hold to well.. i got 267/255 ... my boost control and greddy blow off will allow me to get a bit of kick more... SO ITS WORTH EVERY Penny !

Here's my exact numbers i was a grand off, my bad, and i didn't have to pay the D/H $595.

Car price with SSL 29,937
Check in hand rebate -612
Total 29,325
+ TT&L 1,976
Total 31,301

Don't trip cuz i got a good deal...according to edmunds.com invoice on my car IS 32,230 and MSRP 34,394

I got it with TT&L for less than invoice.
You still want to see the invoice, pm me.

Put that in your pipe and smoke it...

Your post was NOT about daily driving, it was about how the MR behaved at the TRACK. Now you want to move the goal post of the post that you made. At the track the 05 RS will get the same if not better times of the MR for 7k less. At the track you will have to shift more in the 6 speed tranny than you would have with the 5 speed tranny of the RS. Shifting more means SLOWER lap times and more possibilty of error. Mis-shifts are very common on fully manual 6 speed trannies.

At the track no one cares about power windows, locks, radio, sound deadening. If your original post was about comfort, then I would agree with you. The MR is more comfortable than the RS. But your post was about the track.

The time was done at the last SERCA track event on 10/8/2004. I was on Hoosier tires and I had a hotlap unit in my car. My previous best was 1:31.95 on Kumho tires. Temps were in the high 80s-low 90s. There were many people there who saw me do this.
