In this case, I think the FSI provides better low end torque with minimal impact on peak torque. The numbers are quite respectable respectable.

According to Audi:

"430 Newton-metres is achieved between engine speeds of 4,500 and 6,000 rpm. Better still, at least 90 percent of this figure is achieved across the impressively wide speed range from 3,500 to 7,500 rpm"

I'm sure that DI has a role to play in making the torque available over such a wide range.

Don't forget, that to make the most DI, it should be coupled with forced induction.
The Audi R8 is normally aspirated.

I think all 3 would be nice but I wouldn't really care if they weren't on the X

Just one gripe

I only have one major gripe with the new car, and it is probably sufficient to dissuade me from making a purchase; it's f*%!n massive! I went and looked at some of the new lancers at a dealership yesterday and I was impressed that the things are large enough to bump them from compact to midsize. I am certian that any performance benifits garnered from enhanced technology and increased HP will be annihilated by the sheer mass of the thing. I am into sport compact sedans and this thing just doesn't seem to fit the ticket.

The evo is no longer competing with the impreza (don't even get me started on the 2008 impreza), I would sooner pit it against the legacy GT.

It really is a shame because I think the car looks absolutely stunning.

PS. I ran the bosch flat wipers on my last car and they were garbage. I am back to using rainx conventional blades.

I don't like the neon trim they were planning to put in the interior. Any word on if they're going to get rid of it?
