Of course Evo X won't be able to compete with S4 or M3 on luxury level but it will be brought closer to them then the current Evo, and again, Evo costs about 29-35K, S4 or M3 cost about 15-20K more so there really is nothing to compare. And as far as Infiniti goes, yeah it's a nice ride but what makes Evo an Evo is that it's an unique blend of power, agility, and practicality (4 door sedan). G coupes are heavy and not as nimble as Evos, it's a different class of a car, performance wise I prefer an Evo, luxury wise G series has an advantage but again, it's a heavy construction.

Evos and STi are really very specific vehicles that it's hard to really compare it to anything else as basically they are the only two cars available in US that fit the same category.

And as far as GTR is concerned, again, it's a different breed, you can compare that car to a Corvette, and I also don't think that GTR will cost 35-40K but a bit more. And I don't know about you guys but to me every dollar counts, saying that there is ONLY a $5K or $10K price difference as if didn't sound like a lot but to a lot of people that is a big amount of money especially for a car.

I am just saying what I will get , since ppl mentioned BMW and lexus.
getting rid of the IX and get a X will take need quite some money for the change ,

03 Base MSRP $26,500 USD
06 RS is 28,679

u should expect some increase in price for sure for the X

for the M3 and S4 , it is openly addressed by Mitsubishi , X will go to that 'direction' , which they now position it as more like discounted M3/S4
instead wht it is now , super lancer.

if I am getting a new car to replace the Evo , it needs to be a good upgrade , most of us dont see X will be outruning IX ,

We all know first generation of evo on a new chassis always has flaws, i.e. evo I , evo IV ( leaky AYC ) , Evo VII GTA ( I listed this bcoz X will have new trans)

I will think about XI , but definitely not X

Damn this thread isnt for a bunch of non sense and whining if you don't want the X then good for you just list your name on the list simple as that. We dont need to hear your complaints or speculations. If you want to do that there are plenty of EVO 9 I HATE EVO X threads out there.

This thread was made for a specific reason.

I wont simply because you never the buy the first year of anything. Case in point the 03 vs. the 04. All the cool stuff showed up after the first year. The 4B11T will be flawless no worries about that, but I am not gonna shell 45K again for a 4 cylinder. Next car will be a Porsche.

My IX has a build date of aug 05, I bought it as soon as it hit the shores, I paid 39K + extended warranty + tax (8.3%). At the time I bought it, it was the only MR in western WA on the streets. All tolled this was 45,440 so my info is pretty correct. Nice ninja edit by the way there too pal. I pulled no numbers out of anywhere, I didnt say what the X was going to retail for I merely stated what I paid for my IX MR. Yes I know I overpaid, as by the following summer they had dropped something like 7K. Further reason to wait and not buy a X right away, because they will probably do the same thing.

I did happen to read this the other day and its the only place that I think I have seen someone even guess on the price for the US market:

http://www.newcartestdrive.com/sneak...m?ReviewID=138

The UK/EDM market was expecting to see the X get released for about 30K pounds sterling. At least from what I have found.

Just look at all these people making ridiculous power with the Evo and 4G63. With all the aftermarket parts the current evo's have why start from scratch, maybe when it has been researched more, and developed, and proven. Like the current platform.
In two or three years it should all be settled down, and we'll be able to see if the car truly evolved or not.

ninja edit was trying to be nice. long story short you're not going to be an idiot and pay 45k for a four banger again.
in case you didn't notice this thread is about the X not "why I overpaid for my car."
when you reference 45k, people believe you are assuming the X will cost 45K.

Right now I won't buy an X, because I never have and never will buy a new car.

New cars are the biggest rip off known to man.
