Whos not buying an X? for whatever reason
if i wanted to get the new evo for the looks, i would just buy the base lancer cause it looks the same.
if i wanted more power, i would use the downpayment on the new 10 and buy mods for my evo 8.
if i wanted a more luxury, i would get an audi , bmw, etc

Fuel efficiency. Lower Emissions. Both things that required by the government to improve.
Also, mitsubishi had hit the limit of power with the 4G63 while meeting the standards set for Efficiency and Emissions. Remember, manufacturers are under much stricter requirements than the end user. The 4B11 will let Mitsu meet the standards set by the government and allow for future growth.
As for the LS's displacement. So? That really has nothing to do with my point. I was comparing the *CHANGE* of the LS1 over the iron 350 to the change that's now taking place with the 4B11. My point was that the LS1 was an improvement in nearly *every* way over the old engine, and more than likely so will the 4B11.

As for the LSx's Series engine. It was an improvement over an old under engineered motor. big deal the reason ppl make great power out of it is because of the displacement.
It seems to me the only people defending the new Evo X is people that don't even own an Evo. People that are way too optimistic.
Explain the luxury part.. im still at awe at why people state that claim. How the f is it luxurious? if you think thats luxurious your coming from a freaking bucket. Or is it that since my friends have 335i. Lexus is350, and etc that i am not getting it? There is nothing even luxurious about that car

Those of you who'd plan on buying an evo X had best start looking for doner 4g63's now and pray that it fits....LOL
It really doesnt look that stout....

It will be turbocharged and weigh more than the current gen.
Well Mitsu hit the limit but look at all of these big Tuner companies making crazy power with the 4G63.

Let's try to keep the discussion objective here.
[QUOTE=Draco-REX;4494968]Mitsu didn't help design this engine JUST for this year's cars. The 4G63 lasted how long? 20 years or more? The 4B11 will be used for a long time to come.
It will be used but it will never obtain the following the 4G63 has had because of it being an Iron block, and being able to withstand much more pressure than an aluminum block.
The 4B11T will weigh ~50lbs lighter than the 4G63T
Because it will be an aluminum block but the whole weight of the car is estimated to have increased by 200-300 lbs so there goes that.
I think you missed my point. It's not raw power that limited Mistu.
I think the current engine is very efficient at what it does make power reliably.
This made me laugh. One side says the displacement is a sign of how bad the engine is, the other says it's not fair how much power it makes because fo the displacement. The anti-bigmotor crowd needs to get their arguments straight. And, yet again, someone missed my point which I clarified earlier. I wasn't talking about displacement or power.
I think the LS series engine is a great and reliable engine ppl who say otherwise are ignorant. My point is why get another 2.0 liter 4cylinder engine and start from scratch. When the 4G63 engine has been around for what 20 years and has so much after market support. If they were to make the "new" engine with more displacement then I would be very interested in the new engine, but it will still be a 2.0 liter. It would've been a more promising engine if they would have added more displacement at the very least.
SHould I turn this around? Should I say: It seems to me the only people hating on the new Evo X are people who own a current evo. People who feel threatened by the potential it has?
I am not hating on the new Evo my main point is why get an Aluminum block that is lighter, but then make the chassis heavier. Whilst you see Subaru's new Chassis will be lighter than the current subie's and will be much more stiffer.
I highly doubt that this new 4cylinder will have more potential than the current one.

i would love the evo X but i need to sell my 8 first but if i dont sell it iam getting an fpgreen turbo for it.
things i dont like about the X is that they claim it will only have 300bhp and weigh 3500lbs and the engine is brand new cant tell if it will be as powerfull and resistant as the 4g63
