It has to be underrated. The engine puts out 311lb-ft of torque. Small, high-rev engines tend to have more HP than Torque.

Draco-REX, I never did say that I have driven the X. Educated guesses, my friend ... educated guesses. I'll be the first one to admit that I was wrong when and IF the X will be the revolutionary, groundbreaking car that you guys think it will be. Try not to get your hopes up too much, though. You guys might be in for a huge disappointment. Only time will tell, though.

Again, don't get me wrong, I'm an Evo X fan all the way.

No, the weights you are quoting are for US spec cars. The correct weights I quoted are for Japanese spec cars, which is comparing apples to apples.

Its fine the way it is because i trust the engineers more than someone like you who think they are a racer lol

Like i said you swear we are all race car drivers to even tell. Just stop seriously your pwning yourself, just stop lying to yourself. YOU'RE not a race car driver

Most of us buy these cars to have a fun car over the average joe's camry, so whatever makes it faster is what we will feel. Most of us dont buy these cars because we race these things and can tell the difference between the trims.

Oh just so you know? i was one of the ones who ****ed up buying the RS i regret every bit of it. I rather have the power stuff.. over this weight saving bull**** and i know i can speak for alot of people becuase most people just spirit drive these cars and not track them

I'm not expecting a Ferarri here. If you look around you'll see that I will temper claims that seem too optomistic (325whp?). But I do expect the S-AWC system to be a benefit, not a detriment. Remember, a simpler version was fitted to the Evo 8 and 9 overseas (S-AYC), and the Evo's handling was always praised.

There were some PDFs linked a while back that showed how the systems tie together in S-AWC. But on one they had graphs comparing the S-AYC system to the S-AWC system that showed how each component of the systems engaged depending on the car's attitude. One thing it showed was that the S-AWC system starts working sooner, but the ramp up was MUCH more subtle and gradual.

Theoretically, the S-AWC system should be barely active under normal grip driving. What it is suppsoed to do, is widen the envelope of 10/10ths driving so that it can be more readily achieved.

At this point, if someone were to match a stock RS (with 245s) against a stock GSR on a track, I wouldn't be surprised no matter which won. Though if I were to put money on it, I would say the GSR. I think the S-AWC system can make up for the difference in weight with faster exit speeds.

Well I hope they don't change.. The new Evo is supposed to be a World car. Hopefully they won't have to add anything for the USDM.

Here's a thought... Safety equipment will have to be the same. What's the weight difference between the US Lancer and the Japanese Galant Fortis?

Please tell me what I'm thinking right now. Oh, and what was I thinking yesterday? You seem to have a good grasp on my mind, right? I mean, you really know me and understand me to the fullest. You at least think that you have me all figured out. Not it at all really. Not even close. Believe me when I say that I'm not a race car driver, nor do I claim to be one. I do like to fantasize about racing, yes, but that's a different thing all together.

I think it's a terrible shame that you didn't get the Evo that you truly wanted. Sounds like you did make a big mistake in getting the first RS that came to America. I won't claim to know why you made the mistake, whether it be from poor or no research, or maybe you're an impulsive buyer. I don't know. I could care less. But to think that you know me and my thought processes, well, you're simply wrong.

Get real and lose the ego, please. Yes, get over yourself. You can have the last word. No matter what you say, I won't reply to you or anyone else in this thread. I've said my piece. All, take it for what it's worth and try to think outside the box. No hard feelings, truly. Try to be real and think how probable it'll be for the X to be this groundbreaking, revolutionary car that I suppose you guys think it'll be. Not very probable. I'll eat my words, if I'm wrong, though. I just don't want to get my hopes way up. Some of you guys have got your heads wound so tightly around the X's aura. Come back to earth.

Go MMNA! Hope the X does extremely well and caters to all Evo lovers here in the States.

Mitsubishi flat out said that the SST would be superior to VW's DSG.

When the hell did anyone say the EVO X was gonan revolutionize ****. I dont think i ever mentioned that, i think it will do better than everyone expects and thats the only thing that i am saying.

Dude seriously who the hell said the X was gonna be breakthrough ****, everyone that is for the X is just saying it will be good, i don't think anyone was saying it's going to kill ferraris.

People threw around revolution only becuase bashers said the X is no EVOLUTION. Thats the only time i heard anyone mention that, i don't think they meant it in the way you are thinking.

For all but the RS this means a difference of the dreaded 300 lbs. Why is this good news?
your IX quoted figures are incorrect...when applied to the USDM Evo's anyways...maybe the JDM models are actually that light.

edit: and for the girls that are are throwing their **** around...it's just a car guys, that's not even out yet
