Since the SRT-4 and X has the same block the 2.4L block will bolt up to the head of the EVO an make some nice gains !!!!!!!!!!!

This may be beating a dead horse, but-
Do yall think there will be a way to get the uprated brakes, shocks, and wheels without the SST? Either in the form of an RS that has the manual but all the performance goodies or a GSR with a sport package? Man I can't wait to get behind the wheel of one of these and really haul on a few clover leaf on/off ramps.

I was thinking...in the VW GTi, the DSG version was a lot faster than the manual version, I guess to promote the DSG tranny, but they also increased the boost. Maybe this will also happen for the EVO X, just a thought.

Quote: And what makes you the authority on ANY of this? Oh yeah, that's right, you're not the authority and you don't have an automotive crystal ball. The irony of your post is killing me. Re-read your post and see if you are clever enough to pick up on it.

Use a little logic and stop basing your opinion of the car on a single preliminary write-up.

I've lived and breathed the passion and I do understand it. I've also learned that there's more to life than just the car that I own.

I've also learned that theres a fine line between passion and blindness.

Your immature "husband and wife" post speaks volumes about usefulness of your post. Stop being a drama queen because you're so hurt about a sensible post I made.

Cabo
And you're right and I'm wrong. Why not agree to disagree? I'm not gonna massage your blatant ego. There's more to life than the Evo? No way! Dramatic? I call it funny without being offensive. Something I suggest you learn. After all, there's nothing more dramatic and immature than calling people names. You remember calling people fools? I took offense to that, as I can't stand people who can't digest a different opinion. No need to get all constipated. Your conceit is your blindness. All this is neither here nor there, however ... Back on topic, I hope the review is quickly followed by more informative reviews. While these reviews are subjective, they offer more facts from testing and comparison, rather than baseless assumptions.

You guys make these type of threads not worth being part of with all the kid play saying the evo 8 and 9s are better and the soon to be evo x owners crying that it is.
Yes it isnt prolly going to be much better off the line but on the track (road course) it might just take off since it sticks alittle better. Who knows what the Evo RS model holds for you and what the MR models holds also.
The Evo 7-9 was a raw beast but wasnt really any better if worst then the Evo 4-6 that won championships in WRC.
Once modded all models of past are great and i feel this one might be the same.
Could have they made it lighter and more power, yes but it might not sell as much as mitsubishi needs to stay a float and if it was a harsh ride, it might not sell as much.
Lets just wait and see what all the results are and hope that it takes out the STI because if not thats where Evo fans will be pissed.
For the future i see a v6 twin turbo because i dont think they will really up the power on a 4 c. motor any more. Just a future thought.
All in all it will be a great car and will be very popular and broaden the Evo fan base.
One last thing stop complainin that it looks to much like the reg. lancer because the evo 1-6 all looked like the reg. lancer . the evo 7-9 was just alittle different. Look at the Audi A4 and the Rs4 , the bmw 3 series to the M3, and then cheaper cars like the Civic line and SI and caliber and SRT 4 . They all look the same so really Mitsubishi isnt doing any different. Remember its still A LANCER EVOLUTION, not just a EVO.

Hey all of ya....why do u guys worry about one review on a stock EVO X?

None of you have any stock Evo...and those who have stock are in the minority....

So why fret about the stock performance, when all you guys will do is holliganise it with your upgrades, sooner or later....

What you guys should be looking into what upgrades to make your 0-60 and 1/4 miles faster then other comparable cars out there...

Its Ironic, most of you are loaded with mods/upgrades on your current EVO and you guys talk about stock performance???

Thanks for your time

Quote: Can't wait for SST version to be reviews.

A little disappointed in the performance though. Oh well, you can't have everything...I am hoping the SST will be faster...
SSTs will have the advantage. Watch this video of the DSG vs the 6spd MT...
DSG VS MT

But what do I know. Im just a newbie

This video has been discussed ad nauseum. VW doesn't tune the cars equally. We shall see if Mitsubishi does the same thing on the X and ups the boost a bit with the SST. Which is fine until the mods begin, at which point the real difference will become obvious.

The only thing I like are the rims. I'll take a set of those to replace my SE BBS.

for all you guys who think the SST tranny will be faster re-read the article it says the SST tranny isnt faster because it doesnt use all available power to safeguard the drivetrain.

i surely hope the MR comes in a 6 speed... i'd like cruise control as well.. one thing i hated about driving my old 8 on a 5 hour trip was ancle pain... why would they go with an aluminum block on a factory boosted car?!?! this will limit the aftermarket side tremendously!

IMO when they changed up the new third and fourth gen eclipses they gained way more sales, but lost the performance aspect that the first and second gen eclipses had going for it. I fear it will be the same thing for this new Evolution. I mean would the X be faster if they would've included the SAYC with our current Evo's? If it's only a couple tenth's of a second quicker without us having SAYC, I say it's not so bad considering that we don't have SAYC. I really want to see how this X compares with an Evo VIII or IX that has SAYC as well. Also we should really be fearing this new STI that is coming out it'll be lighter, more compact, and will already have an aftermarket for the Engine.

that's refering to the launch control feature , it should save at least .1 sec every shift so 13.4 ~13.3 sec time is with in reach. I'm hoping they tune the SST model more agressive like the posts above mentioned
