Evolution MR - Mitsubishi Racing [MERGED]
the CF trim is probably the ****ty trim that they offer at the dealerships on our lancers now. i believe Sean has the red one, and i think thats what they will offer. regardless of that i can't wait to see the MR, and will definately consider trading in my lancer for one.....i love the evo in TG and the tails and rims are sick.

Ahh, Group B - I want the 205T16 or VR6 Metro! Almost bought one 10 years ago, long story...
Unfortunately, death in motorsports is an occupational hazard - as long as people will race cars, accidents will happen. It's funny how every time F1 or WRC or whoever reg bodies mandate limits, manufacturers always find ways to squeeze more out of less. Actually, it seems regs tend to accelarate technology, making cars even faster.
As far as MR - ain't no way we'll see it in the US! We did not even get JDM (or is it ABUS - anywhere but US) toys! MR is like EVO X in evolution terms from USDM. I am becoming more and more sceptical that we'll see EVO being sold in USDM past next couple of years if that. IMO, of course.

Rather than saying, "I owned one of the first EVO's available." That's cool and all, and I want one too, but I'm holding out for two reasons: 1) First year always has problems that get fixed/improved in later years 2) If there is a better model available down the road, thats the one I want!

There's a lot of reason to say that our Evo8 is closer to a Evo7.5 than anything. The Evo's had plenty of R&D time in the past 10 years, so... I had no qualms jumping on the Evo this year - reliability was certainly not one of the worries on my list because it's the "first year" run. Remember these machines are all built in Japan still. Nothing is built here.

IMO, I don't think you can really say this is the "first year" of the Evo. Maybe in the US, but to be honest, our USDM Evo is basically a AYC/ACD-less with a beefed up Evo7 tranny (no doubt due to America's fetish for drag racing).

Hell, if I had not sold my ITR until now, I would have more than likely purchased an 03' EVO and not worried about changes for the 04' because I know the car isn't new to the world. I just prefer to wait until the second year to make sure any minor tweaks/changes have been done.

between then and now
This should probably get stuck in with the big We're waiting for the evolved 2004 model Evo to show up thread! The orange turn signal lenses on the taillights look good! IMO.
As for sticking it to those who purchased first. Get real. cars always get better, that's the whole point. While you're enjoying your car now, and those who buy 2005s get to wait while the 2004 purchasers enjoy their car along with the 2003 owners.
You can always buy a new car each year.. no one is stopping you.
As for Mitsu doing horrible, that's not obvious everywhere? Too bad they're still not improving their buying experience, service expeirence, or creating enough worthwile factory options to entice the initial sale.
