Bump for MR pricing.

Anyone?

Bueller?...

Simone :

Um, it's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavours last night when he heard the price. I guess it's pretty expensive.

Captain EVO : Thank you Simone

If you are selling 04's for 40k you are selling them for 7-8k over sticker price. Unless you are planning on marking up your cars 5-6k on the MR there is no way that you would be at 40k. Remember that the MR does not have a sunroof or leather so it is NOT going to be a huge difference between a leather and roof equipped standard EVO.

Mitsu says the RS will have "Thin body sheet metal---Reduced body weight (rear deck lid)", does that mean a thinner trunk only? or will all the sheet metal on the car be thinner?
Thanks

I spoke to the owner of San Rafael Mitsu and he said that the U.S. will only get about 800 MR. If you can get one at a good price get the MR. An MR with mark up is probably going to be very expensive. If I buy another evo I would probably get an RS. He also told me that the 2005 Evo's are faster that the current cars and all have LSD's in the front.

probably 800 for this year, so 800 to sell for 4 months from September till December, then another 5000 next year.... time will tell.

Bah. Could just do what I plan to... find out all the differences between the '05 MR and '05 RS and remove the "dead weight" from the MR to get it closer to the RS's weight.

Heck, I'm going to be stripping it completely down the line, so what's a bunch of sound deadening material, carpeting, etc? The only tough items right now are going back to crank windows and such, but I'm going to see how much I'd actually save on those.

I had to vote RS seeing as I just picked up mine on the 11th Its a great car, and frankly, I can live without all the creature comforts for the weight and price savings. My dealer said they are expecting the MR's in late march. Just because they say the car is being released in late Sept (the MR) doesnt mean it will be there. They released the RS early in the year and mine didnt show up until the 2nd week of August.

Have a feeling MR will be marked up considerably. They'll probably say: this is the MR it's $35-38K; now if that's a little high, why don't I show you the RS...it's lighter you know!

Obviously I have not driven an MR, but I did drive a regular Evo 8 with all the options and an RS, and I liked the RS a lot more. I'm not sure what the MSRP of the MR will be, but I've heard it'll be around 33 to 34 grand, and if you can get an RS for like 26-27, I think you could make the car much faster / more impressive with the 6-7 grand you saved. Anybody know the official curb weights of the RS and MR?
