2012 Release Date

Planning on getting a 2012 when they come out this year...does Mitsubishi Routinely release the EVO in Aug-Sept like most car companies? And if so, info on the changes I assume will start popping up in July or early August? New to the EVO world and tried to find info from when the 2011 was released but couldn't find a straight answer.
Any ideas?

For the 2011's, a few people started picking them up November/Early December. So maybe around that time?

FYI, some dealers have brand new '08 Xs in stock. and not bc they are waiting to sell them for a huge profit, like some did with IXs, but simply bc they never sold.

I've been keeping an eye out for any updates on the web but nothing yet...I stopped by a dealer locally and gave the Mitsu guru that works there my number so I can try and get some inside info from him as we get closer here. Based on what most have said I'm thinking Mitsu will press release any changes late August or Sept. then release in Oct.

I'm really waiting to see if they throw in a 6 speed manny in the GSR=SOLD! So long as they dont ruin the gearing to bad. I'm also interested to see if they make any options standard or tweak some minor interior details. I'm not expecting any major changes. Just wanna get a later model cuz soon this EVO as we know it goes DoDo

I too am hoping for a 6-speed manual in the GSR. They can keep the same gearing for 1-5 and just make the 6th an overdrive for highway cruising. I'd be happy with that!

They will never have a 6 speed manual Evo X as that's what the SST is for. Making a 6 speed manual is like de-evolving.

^ That new 08 statement was pretty bold. There are cars from 07 still in dealers... 3 1/2 years.

Is 2012 the last year for the Evo before they change it? Going to push me to check one out!

That's what all the rumors are saying. The 2013 will be the new model which all reports say will be some type of hybrid (which might not be a bad thing considering the next Porsche 911 will also be a hybrid).

I too would love a 6spd manual, but definitely would want a real close ratio box (not a tacked on 6spd for mileage/buzz reduction).

I'd like 1st to be slightly lower, all the gears closer together (easier to stay in the boost on upshift) and 6th a little taller than current 5th.
