hahahha...a aluminum roof is minor upgrades?????? a 6 speed gearbox is a minor upgrade???????acd and ayc is minor?????? not that u need acd or ayc...but i m sayin...MR and USDM evo is pretty much different... don't talk bout aftermarket part...aftermarket u can make a civic ex fly...stock to stock...usdm evo and evo mr is pretty much different

Dammit, it figures they bring the MR over here after all that talk that it would never arrive. Oh well. I would love the ACD, gearbox and AYC. the roof, rims and shocks they can keep. I would replace most of the stuff anyway. I guess this just means I'll have to make a couple more mods so when I see an MR in a year or so, he'll be quite surprised to see a 400whp "stock" evo blow his doors off. No sense in trading in. Granted it's a very hot car, BUT like RTS EVO VIII said, it would make more sense to wait for the EVO 9 or even EVO 10

Hmmm lesss the Evo II was just a few things changed from the Evo I, and the III from the II, hmm they've all even had the same block... Does that mean each hasn't been better? Nope. Each one has been better, thankfully.. It sounds like sour grapes.. Either way.. With some of the IX sketches with ralliart lights, I'd have to see if the IX was more appealing to me than the current VIII. I actually think the MR VIII is the second best looking Evo, since the very aggressive VI. Then again the IX could have the very nice front end first photoshopped about 6 months ago in some japanese magazine that had simalr VIII headlights but with more aggressive front fascia and larger fog lights.. Time will tell.. Cars will always get better. You enjoy the toy you have as much as possible, so as not to waste time watching it fall apart..

I don't know if you all missed it, but basically this article is just more heresay. There is still no good reason to believe the MR is coming here. Until Mitsu announces it, it's as good as wishful thinking.

This isn't a flame, but I actually owned a '01 ITR and GSR...at the same time! I really don't see how you can say that they are pretty much the same, and they FEEL NOTHING LIKE EACH OTHER! I dunno, that was just my observation, like I said it wasn't a flame. I think the main thing that people might be missing is the comparisson between a STOCK VIII Vs. a STOCK MR. I obviously haven't driven an MR, but I would wager that it feels significantly different given the listed upgrades. Most people have already spent some money in modifications on their EVO's and have probably forgotten what the car felt like STOCK hehehe. I seriously have no reason to believe that the MR wouldn't feel significantly different, when driven around a racetrack...around town might be a different story.

i wonder how much weight the aluminum roof saves on the evo?!?! that's a minor upgrade. you want to save some real weight, get an evo rs and go on a diet.

GODDAMMIT I hope MMCA doesn't try to fuq with it...I mean, WHY WOULD YOU CHANGE THE NAME TO RALLIART? That freakin brand is now completely crapitised in the US.

HEAR ME ! JUST CALL IT AN "MR", THAT'S WHAT IT IS.

Unfortunatley the heresay comment just might be right on. I'm not one of these guys that will flame the manufacturer for "watering down" the version that's brought to the US, because there are sooo many different things thay have to factor in to the costs and other less than cool governmental deals. I wish they could bring over a full-blown MR, but I highly doubt it will have all the drivetrain goodies that it does in Japan. I can see the ACD, but I think the SAYC will be absent from our version, if the MR does in fact come, for the same reasons that the AYC is absent from our current model.
