Specs for the MR and other 05's!
hey, 1 quick ? if anyone knows concerning the 6MT on the '05 MR... do you know what the ratios will be/if the 0-60 times/ 1/4 mile times will change much? j/w where the shift points will be now, if there will be a required 2-3 shift before reaching 60 like the STi?
For that set of variables I stuck with published redlines. For testing and tuning it's nice to see what a different set of tires, or running an extra 100 rpms in a gear will do.. Excel can be a nice tool for small data sets.
Derek, it looks like at this point we will order the MR and regular Evo, RS at the same time. More than likely they will have a build out of cars with a mix of all of the models in the first run. Although in talking with some of the other GSM's around here I don't think there are going to be many orders for the RS, most are planning on ordering the regular EVO and MR exclusively. If anyone is interested in an RS I would get in touch with you dealer and have them order one, otherwise I don't think many stores are going to stock them.
according to that, the mr has a bigger turbo, but the same hp, hmm i sense free hp.
what happened to the weight reduction for the MR, though i heard 300lbs. I guess road and track made a BIG overstatement.
anyways, i tried to buy an evo before they first came out and got smacked with a markup so now i just need to find a dealership with the MR that doesnt mark them up in so cal.

I just sat down in despair thinking about the money I sank into my Evo. Realizing, what is the benefit? My teins going in are better. The NT03's Im waiting to buy are lighter. My carbon clutch IS better, minus the fact my tranny has been rebuilt twice and feels it. But, I' will wait until some poor dope crashes the MR and then pirate that 6 speed and drivetrain. Otherwise, i like my car. Why? Its MINE, and Im going to make sure it stays that way.

no yellow, but I do know the MR colors will be replacing 2 of the original Evo colors, Weightless white with another metallic white, Blue by you with an electric blue and the original MR grey will be a new graphite grey. Thats all ive heard about the colors

Amen to that!
Why loose a huge chunk of money on getting an MR or an '05 base evo when it's essentially 90% the same car?!? I'd rather wait and see what the EVO 9 or EVO 10 will offer. I'm very happy with my '03. The ACD and front LSD are nice but you'll only see the difference if you plan on taking your EVO to the track or if you drive at the limit on the street (which is dangerous btw). Besides, it's a sure bet that when the 05 evo comes out it'll be priced near STi territory. C'mon, you think MMC with all of it's financial troubles will add FLSD and ACD and still sell the car under 30k? When the EVO 9 comes out with 300+HP and Super AYC and Super ACD (speculations obviously), 05 owners (especially 03 owners who traded-in for 05s) will say 'damn, if I only waited a year more'. There's always a new EVO out every two to three years and by that pattern, '06 may be the year the EVO 9 will come out.
Bottomline, be thankful with what you have!
