well the EBC didn't come in yet

my dad shot me an e-mail tonight and we're talking bout hitting an 1/8th mile track that's about 1 hour from here Sunday. It's too far to drive it with the drag radials so I might just run it with the street tires for ****s and giggles. I just don't feel like dragging another set of wheels/tires down there and changing them for an 1/8th mile track fun run.

maybe the weather will clear up.

heading to the only open 1/8th mile track today, it's a 1.5 hour trip so I'm driving with the street tires but have the jack/drag radials loaded up. I'm going to shoot some in car video and my brother is going to shoot some from outside.

wish me luck!

I haven't pulled the video yet but I did get some 1/8th mile times

now keep in mind the track was very slippery, little prep at all because only about 5-10 cars showed up...there were rubber marbles all over the starting line and nobody to sweep them up. However, I did let the drag radials down to 15psi and even though it was spinning all the way through first gear I did managed some decent 60's

my best pass was my last one...I adjusted the clutch pedal so the engagement point wasn't right of the floor board. I still shifted slow to 2nd because I didn't want to blow the run with a missed gear, but the 3-4 shift was pretty fast.

My goal was a 1.65 or better 60' and 96mph in the 1/8th and here's where I ended up:

60' 1.70
1/8th 7.36
mph 100

I was very happy with the 100mph 1/8th on plain old 93 octane

Very good 1/8 mile mph indeed, on 93 octane and with awful track conditions. Runs will only get better as the year goes by!!!

hope to get the vid out tonight but here's a few pics: I just bought the black wheels, didn't have time to clean them up and some paint is chipped but I just wanted them for the drag radials anyway.

that's me in the dark jacket with a stripe btw...my god where did the hair go

Couple questions....

1) Were you sleeping at the light??

2) What is your SES light on for??

3) what AFR do you shoot for? Seems to vary from 10.3 to 11.3 throughout the 1/8th mile.

4) How accurate was the G-Tech for those runs?

Cheers-
Erich

the timer doesn't start until I move so there's no point rushing things, I have to set the logger, camera and g-tech so I take my time.

misfire code due to the cams loping...stock ecu ftl on that one

11.3 ish but it's going richer after 8000

4) How accurate was the G-Tech for those runs?
within 1mph and 1 tenth...the track was faster

Erich

15psi warm...about as low as recommended by BFG. The track was a joke, the guy just opened up to make a few extra bucks, nobody at the gate taking money, nobody spraying water, nobody sweeping off the rubber, nobody handing out time slips.

It was a one man show but I'm glad he's open and it was worth the drive, we had a good time regardless....sure beats sitting at home all day.

I think the best 60' I had was a 1.66 but it was one of my first runs so I didn't know I was going to have to stretch out 1st and 2nd and 3rd to cross the traps under power...the car rode the limiter forever in 3rd and got a craptastic e.t./mph

Man that was intense!

Do you know what the 7.36 would translate to in a 1/4 mile Chris?
