Proof has been found on page 2 that the front lower lip indeed is included. I also believe that the tow hook covers are suppose to be included as well.

Okay after I ordered the bumper on June 28 2006, it finally arrive in Houston on September 18 2006. I picked it up the following day on the 19th and brought it straight home to install. I then uninstalled my Evo 8 bumper, then I opened the box and unwrapped the paper and bubble wrap from the Evo 9 Bumper. I noticed that the bumper had no front lip, but i thought it would be at the bottom of the box or somewhere. I then installed the bumper w/o the lip and it fit perfectly. After taking everything out of the box, I found no front lip. I know for a fact the it was stated to be sold as EVO 9 Front w/lip for $799 Shipped. This really aggravates me since I waited 12 weeks (3 whole months) which is longer than the stated (6-8 weeks). I'd either like the original yellow lip, but not having to wait any longer than 1 week, or else be reinbursed to buy an aftermarket lip if the only yellow lip is in JAPAN.

Has anyone else had a huge problem like this??? I just hope Gruppe-s will follow-up and take action immediately. PLEASE PM me GRUPPE-S ASAP.

okay just got off the phone and gruppe-s (GARY) stated that it doesnt come with the front lip. and on the website, it states that the only thing it doesnt come with is the emblem, mesh and radiator support. IF it didnt come with the lip, then it should have been stated. I even checked SPEED ELEMENT and they sell the exact same bumper for $849 shipped via FEDEX and it comes with the bumper, front lip and tow hook covers... all i got was the bumper! Did anybody else buy this bumper and get only the bumper???

thanks for the info man, there is nothing i hate more than to wait for that long for somthing to arrive and it is missing something and then to beat it all when you call, they act like you did somthing with the piece that is missing. hope everything goes better and post some pics when you get every thing worked out

It's not only that, they say that they dont sell the OEM Lip with the bumper... Oh and I was told gary was busy on the phone, But that was 1 HOUR ago...

So randy asked me to email him the link to speed element to compare, so i did. He replied back with

"Hey,

This for from 2005. If you want I will make you a good deal on the front lip."

First off, only a blind man cant see that the date clearly says in the TOP RIGHT CORNER "May 3, 2006, 11:40 PM" .Why would i want to spend more money on a lip i was already suppose to get? That's bs.

 

I even went out of my way to ask the other deal, Speed Element, about my situation and heres what he had to say.

yeah, i think you did.. because i dont think those guys over there did their homework.

The complete setup we sell is including front bumper, lower lip, and lower tow hook cover. The front grill and retainers are extra ($300) if customer wants to order these from us. However, you are able to re-use/modify your stock evo 8 ones to make it fit.

I have nothing but facts to back up my statements and all gruppe-s has is, well sorry you misunderstood and you thought we sold it with the lip. Then why state on the website "NOTE: USDM or JDM Evo IX bumper beam required. Bumper does not come with emblem or grill, or EVO IX radiator support bracket." , BUT Not say NO LIP IS INCLUDED???

Thats pretty bad looking, I didn't realize the lip had that many screws in it. You could always get the SE lip (just a thought). I would want the difference back from them for the lip so you can order it from Mitsubishi.

 

That's exactly what I need, either reinbursement for another one, or a lip. All I got from Randy was, "Again I can still offer you a great deal on the front lip." and "Were checking with Japan how much this is going to cost. I'll send you a proposal as soon as I get information from Japan."

Why the hell should I pay extra for something I already bought???????????????? Other than Calvin and I, does anybody else feel as if I'm getting ripped off?

I dunno man, maybe call your credit card company, but with it being so old I think you may be hosed.

 

True, I cant even get a refund because gruppe-s charges a restocking fee. All I think I can do is hope they take responsiblity as a company and pay for their mistake. Or I get extreme and take them to court. But what can i really do??
