yeah but in the end i pay about 80 bucks for car insurance and all those cars you mentioned would take me up to about 120 a month (this is at full coverage with 250 detuctable and perfect record and well of age)

For the younger it's much higher since your in a high hp sports car... the lancer is still considered a 4 door family sedan. You gotta add up all the costs bro.

Also anyone can buy speed... it takes a real enthusiast to build speed. Coming on here and saying what your saying is like going on VW boards and telling them their idiots for not buying your mentioned cars. VW guys love the cars and love that 170whp gets them into the 13's all day.

this is a good thread right here! for a hot second. but the lancer is a bad *** car.. i think taking a lil family sedan and making it a mini monster is hella cool. you'd suprise alot of people when you beat them in your "family sedan"

to say the lancer is a waste of time is BS! omarboys , Boe and the guys at rrm really know how to squeeze the juice out of this car.its definitely worthy my vote... it's a Go!

dude, don' even start here, go back to your retarded *** SRT boards and cause havoc over there, stop actinging like you drive a damn supercar, you drive a ****ing neon, nobody asked you to chime in with your my car owns the interior is sweet it handles well bull****. your car looking like a neon, the interior looks stupid (but i do like the truck shifter), and your car is nothing that is so impressive in handling that you have to sit here and claim that we have ****ty handling. Oh and congrats, you paid more for your car, you didn't build a single one of that claimed 250 whp, you pay more insurance, and you'll still get run down. Go back to your shanty on the SRT boards.

This guy ****ing cracks me up.

Not in the same league with wrx / evo / rsx, wtfeverelse, you are killing me chubbs. I guess that puts me in a league BEYOND those cars seeing as though i will run any of the above, or beat them. stock wrx is a dog, unless modified, and yes they are easy to extract power from, but give me a break. Unless you are looking to buy a car that your only taking to the track, i don't consider my investment any sort of disadvantage at all.

Not to mention nobody gives a flying ****adoodle about SRT4s. they are everywhere, they are stupid and look like *******, i get mad respect for my car and people are actually interested to see something new and different, then when they see it perform they are completely shocked and amazed. Don't dig your hole any deeper man.

Most VW guys mock the lowly 2.0 and tell everyone to buy a 1.8t and not bother messing with trying to turbo a 2.0, which is a lot cheaper then turbocharging a Lancer. Trust me, I know Serious, go ask if you should turbo a 2.0 or buy a 1.8t.

MKIV Forum

Same for the 2.0L N/A DSMs, yes its a labor of love to get that bad boy up to 180whp, buy why bother when insurance is nearly identical to the rip-roaring 210hp GSTs and TSI turbos? Don't believe me? Go ask.

Don't own a SRT-4 nor will I ever. Aye. Also argueing a SRT-4 is just a Neon is about as smart as arguing the Evolution is just a Neon, or a 1.8t GTI is just a stupid Golf GL. I just feel people should respect cars when respect is due.

Your word selection and language sums up the value of your opinion completely. Thank you have a nice day.

That led me to think that you owned one. Sorry if i misunderstood.

Anyways, i never said i don't respect the car. You basically came on here and started disrespecting what's going on with our cars. I have respect for the SRT4, but too many people think its a lot better than it really is. You should learn to respect somebodies modding and tuning abilities. Lets see you extract 150% additional whp than stock on just about any car, with stock motor, for under 5k. RESPECT IT.

I don't feel its a waste of time, just irrational to think purchasing a NEW lancer and turbocharging it will give you a good bang for your buck, respectible tuner car. However, if you nab a low mile 2002 for $6,000 and put together and get a running urbo kit for under 3,300 and have 190whp then nice job. I think the car excels only when purchased factory certified used, warrently, low miles, and cheap to buy and insure.

I'm not about to let this thread go to waste with your bull****, so I'm going to say YOU have a nice day, and get off a thread you don't even belong on with your senseless bull**** that nobody wants to hear.

190 whp? Hmm, thats funny. How much power are Evos, STIs, and modded Z28s making?? Ohhhhh ok...

Like I've been saying, while impresive, it would still just be wiser to buy a Ralliart if we are talking new. Also, earlier in this thread people where yelling up and down a turbo lancer is a better buy then Evos, SRTs and WRXs, and "it will waste them".

I am considering purchasing a Lancer (still) for a daily driver. I put its gentle ride, nice seats and lower cost of ownership as its strong points, and its power, fuel economy and aftermarket as the low points. I could never see my self driving a Civic either

1) Ralliart = 19k (approx.) In my opinion, buying that and adding a "stage 1" turbo kit and having the same price and power as my "stage 2" kit, puts you in the same boat.

2) Nobody said they are better buys, and nobody said they are wasting any of those cars. People have said that for less money, and less insurance, a turbo lancer with the right mods will RUN WITH SAID VEHICLES (take notice to bold type). If you can find anywhere on this forum w here it says a turbo lancer WASTES an evo, humor me, please, i could use it.

3) The seats in the lancer suck. If your going to talk about strong points at least get them right.
