stock eclipse turbo?

Ok my friend has a complete stock turbo setup from his 2nd gen eclipse. its a 97 with i believe he said a t25 turbo. anyway i was wondering if i get all of his stuff since he completely rebuilt everything custom with a 20G turbo and all new piping and everything. i was wondering what all i would need to do to make it fit. I know the RRM kit will bolt up to the stock manifold but comes with a different down pipe. how would i go about setting this up if i use his parts. Will a T25 even bolt to my manifold? I know these are alot of questions but I would be saving a great deal of money if this would work. I guess as far as a down pipe goes I could hook the rest of the turbo up and just drive it to the pipe shop and get one made but just let me know what you think i would need to do to get this on my lancer. thanks for all the help and sorry if this post is kinda jumbled.

No turbo will bolt up to the stock manifold without flange modifications. The Road Race's turbo kits uses a specially designed return pipe that bolts up to the manifold/cat assembly which all feeds the T28 in that kit. Take your friend's T25, then use the base kit sans turbo.

Well I heard that the exhaust manifold aka turbo manifold from the stock 2nd gen Eclipse does work. If I'm wrong please correct, also, wouldn't it cause a little less turbo lag if he used a turbo manifold that would work instead of doing the up pipe down pipe deal. I'm mean don't get me wrong a friend of mine has the RRM turbo kit and it feels ok because he doesn't have the whole set up.

You are wrong. Different engine families.

They look close as hell, and by the way, sorry no need for the tude just puttin in my 2 cents.

The only thing that looks off is the ports thats it

Also how about takin a picture of the middle of the eclipse head instead of the right side of the exhaust port side. also what about the pic of the whole head instead of just 2 ports that would be nice

i wouldnt risk it unless you have a turbo shop install it for you because they will know what they are doing but if you dont want to do that then go with RRM where there is no risk!

They may be similar but then again, most exhaust ports would granted as essentially they're holes in the block. Mirage guys would've done a simple turbo manifold swap if it was that easy, so the answer is still no.

As the Mod said it won't work. Totally diferent set up for the eclipse exhaust mani. Get the guys T25 and thats it. The oil feed/return lines are usles to you the same goes for the routing of the coolant lines (FOR THE COOLANT LINES: you may be able to use just the two parts that attach to the turbo itself, just disconnect the other hardlines seperated by the rubber hose.). You also would not be using the I/C pipe due to the way they plumb. The I/C setup faces the passenger side of the car and the Lancers intake is on the drivers side. So nothing salvageble but the turbo itself.
