Yea I guess my 12psi and higher statement came off wrong. I ran a steady 10psi and bumped it up to 15psi for the last month before I dropped my new motor in. But I also had a rock solid, no knock tune going. Safely, 10psi is a good number for people to run, on a good tune, and not cause engine damage.

I think what senate says, about extra safety is right....but the effort involved steers me toward not wanting to do it....and wanting to at the same time. I have never taken the head off of anything....and I want to almost just for the learning aspect.

As far as the BOV....no way to change the pressure, right? I know crushing it strengthens the sprint, on a metal bov...so that's the opposite way I want to go. Why are the 9's ok for us "custom 16g" guys, weaker spring?

There's a digital copy of the Lancer FSM in the troublshooting threads. Download it and take a look at what removing the head entails on a 4G94.

As for the BOV, I couldn't say. I've used a Forge DV since day one with my original 16G6 kit.

Yup, I downloaded that FSM a few weeks ago....and at first I thought, well this thing sucks, it doesn't have nice pictures like haynes/chilton books. But, after I dug in to the car more and more, it made more sense...and has been really really useful.

You get 1 "schrute buck" for posting it, and I don't understand why haynes never made a manual for us....

After a very long.....long week, guess what showed up at my door!

The wife isn't going to be too happy when she gets back the house I don't think. I told her a few times, "so...I'm going to turbo the lancer", but I don't think she believed me.

Oh...and this thing is heavy. Speedcorps said they have a bracket, but that it's not like, "ready for the public" until it's been tested, or sized right or something. What's everyone doing to brace this behemoth who has a custom mani, or an RRM mani even (do they sell a bracket?).

you guys aren't just letting it dangle in the front, are you? I'd say that would put a crack in the mani.

hahaha I told my wife im going to turbo the lancer... that made my day today. Nice turbo by the way and its a good thing you got that black J pipe, im waiting on my bracket as well so we will have to see I heard the bracket is going to be awesome!!!. How many miles and what kind of turbo you got? 10.5 or 9.8?

I probably will be starting my build next monday but we will have to see if budget allows all I need is 100.00 without going in debt and I will have a turbo lancer for sure!!!

Heh, yeah I am waiting to hear about the bracket, but was told it's not totally necessary due to the quality construction of the speedcorps manifold. I still like the added security though.

The turbo is the 9.8 hotside, it's got 20k on it I believe, and yeah, included the jpipe and return. I think I remember this from 03's thread, but we remove the little banjo oil fitting and replace it with a -4an oil feed line, that's 48 inches in length, right?

This one http://www.obxracingsports.com/products.php?pk=1066 would be ok?

The one that is 45-9999-5

I can't find it, just where you mention that you are going to do it. Did you take pics of it btw?

This is what I did since I copied 03lances get a -12an banjo nut in place of the oil feed pipe, and then buy the oil sandwhich feed off ebay because it comes with the ss braided line that connects to the oil feed banjo nut.

reason why is the banjo nut has a little hole in the middle for oil to be fed through, and its a direct fit for it to connect to the oil feed line. just look through 03 lances thread hes got the pics there

got a battery tray and WGA by forge

Does it look like the previous owner bent the rod to shorten the length here in order to get more boost? ...btw, I love getting these presents on fridays!

Also...I got this banjo fitting, and it's not exactly like the others online. This one looks like it's not as corrosion resistant or something. It also says "water fitting" instead of "oil fitting", think it's ok to use?

New stuff on the way

Just bought a bunch more lately, since pay day is the 15th!

the exhaust manifold
AEM UEGO - poor local shop went out of business...
forge spring
boost gauge and EGT gauge by gloshift
battery relocate via evo8 tray
used forge WGA
oil fittings, feed, return and what not
Tactrix cable and reflash connector
ebay slim fan pair
oh...and ebay SR*S exhaust, hope that doesn't suck much, lol.

Basically...I've got just about everything either here or on order (maybe a few gaskets and what not still missing). I'll do one of those "here's everything" shots when all the rest shows up. Wouldn't you know it, my 2 good "truck" buddies said today when they saw a couple parts getting delivered at work, "you know we really do want to help you, right?" I knew they did....just didn't know how long it would take them to admit it. One guy, Cody whose my welder, has asked me at least 3 times this week, " so when do we get to weld that exhaust up already!?"

Not old do I have the spare buick, because the motor mounts replaced, power steering leak is fixed, tensioner is replaced, belts lookin good, radiator hole is gone....but my wife's brother is headed off to Afghanistan shortly this month (good luck to him) but he's leaving his car with me while he's doing the whole "Army" thing. Says he doesn't want it collecting dust in the barn, but would rather someone run it every week at least...I can respect that, I know I'd want the lemon slice to stay "fresh".
