Turbo support bracket
Turbo support bracket
Hello fellow turbo lancers. I use a modified evo tubular manifold for my turbo set up. I just took it off to have it welded due to cracks into between the runners. I actually decided to purchase a new one from speedcorps cause i would rather have the runners actually line up and it looks better that the drilled out and cut manifold i was using. My question is this: Is anyone using some sort of bracket to take the weight of the manifold or are we all just holding everything up with our manifold. I am going to fab up a bracket for when install the new manifold based on the one AMS makes for there turbo kit. any one have any input on this?
Even the support bracket on the stock o2 housing on the evo had me concerned when I went with a megan o2 housing that doesn't utilize the bracket. So now most of the stress is on the stock cast manifold. If I went to a tubular, I'd have to make some sort of bracket for peace of mind. Def a good idea.
cant find anything on the bracket in search.
I have had my turbo for like 4 years now and now the manifold has started to crack. I think it would be wise for all us guys using the tubular manifolds to look in to this.

yup, i guess that would work. i was planning on mounting it on the same block location but higher up like where the turbo hotside meets the manifold. just so i could use an aftermarket 02 housing.
some thing like this but modify it to work as a support bracket==
