any local car parts stores i can get this from? is this the same as an odessy mini battery? also, what if i took my mini battery out and did the relocation kit with a regular optima red or yellow top in the trunk. the only thing im not sure of is it the key would still open the trunk if the battery is dead.

i hate jl overpriced, your just paying for the name. Id have to agree the new comp vrs sound damn good for the price. I have a friend with two mtx 9500 12s and they absolutley wax a w7s ***
this is one of the funniest threads i have ever read on Evom........you guys need to check out http://www.soundillusions.net/ there is alot of good stuff on there..... but this is comeing form a guy who is THX certified
JL... where to start... VERY flawed response curve with a big spike at 40 Hz, they do this purposely to make unwise consumers think that they're getting "Lots of bass" when they're not hearing the bass at all, they're hearing the sub distort the signal. The W7 can be a nice sub, if you completely ignore JL's airspace specs and put it in a much bigger box. For my money, DLS is the way to go. my SP12 impresses everyone who demo's my car because it plays extremely deep and is very accurate. it also blends well into the rest of my system.
for pounding though, 2 IDmax 12" will slam.

For the kind of money they charge for their amps you could spend about the same(maybe a bit more) and get Zed, US Amps, Brax or Helix amps. I'd take one of those anyday over JL. I'm not even going to comment on their speakers.
those of you that are haveing voltage problems should check out http://www.batcap.net/

have you used this? any additional info from experience?
Those look like they're for SPL burps. I can't imagine they "help" your electrical system anymore than a cap since they both will have to pull more current from your main battery to recharge.
I could be wrong though....

They may be overpriced but I dont think the quality is overrated. The people here that say they are may just want something thats simply loud. My friends two 12" mtx's simply destroy my single 12W3v2 as far as loudness goes.. but they just sound horrid imo.
Love JLAudio
i work at circuit city, and we carry kicker mtx blah blah... i always have people who come in, look at our subs and ask me if i carry jl audio.... im sick of it frankly, ive heard jl before, and i wasnt that impressed i mean it sounded good but i just think its really hyped... what is ur guys opinion.
I disagree. I had 2 13.5 W3s with 1000 watt 1 channel JL amp on each speaker in a Ford explorer and they hit harder than anything I've ever heard. Parked in front of a kangaroo gas station, I blowed the window out of the store. I parked under a carport with a tin roof and blew 2 of the 4 pieces of tin off the carport... It was unbelievable, I loved it. But law enforcement did not and I decided it was best to sell them. I pushed those speakers to the max and they never missed a beat. I have blown kicker, Rockford and Memphis speakers with hardly 1/4 of the power I put on the JL... I'm a true believer...
