I believe you can tap the amp inputs into the rear speaker wires for signal and run power wires (more or less) normally. Someone will definitely correct me (and probably quickly) if I'm wrong. I believe about half a dozen people have asked this though and that's the answer I remember.

you CAN tap the signal from the rear speakers, run the power, etc. but in my opinion it's gonna sound pretty crappy. you're gonna have powered sub and (relatively) unpowered speakers, plus your stock speakers are still gonna try to reproduce the bass that the sub is putting out. if you want my honest opinion, wait til you have everything and do it all at once. stock setup isn't that bad.

I'll second what Cup said. A powered amp off of speaker level signals won't sound particularly good. You'll get a much better improvment if you just replace the head unit or the head unit and the speakers.

Also, with an aftermarket head unit, adding a subwoofer/amp will be much easier because you'll be able to use the pre-amp outputs on the aftermarket head unit to signal the subwoofer.

How about buying the package, and putting it in the garage till you get a Head Unit? If it's that good a buy, go for it! Wouldn't reccommend tapping from the back speakers. The factory H/U doesn't have preamp outputs.

this wouldn't matter if the amp had speaker level inputs, or if you got an inline convertor to attenuate the signal to RCA level.
