ok, I just bought...
THIS!...
...THIS...
and THIS!

now, I know I need speaker wire and what else now? also, I would love to do 0/1 gauge, but are u sure my alpine HU/amp/subs can take the 0 gauge or is it too big? or will I be ok with it fitting? HELP!
also, I was thinking of a completely Plexiglass box so I can show ff the R's from more than the front. what do u all think and should I buy a box or make it?
Didn't thread jack...and its not OT...you said you needed an amp, so I was seeing what everyone was saying about that amp...thats on topic, your topic...never said I had the amp...

Thank You

I followed the thread, and I know you purchased the amp...I was asking about another amp(on topic) but yea not worth arguing over, life's too short seriously just go to an audio shop and get a kit, or maybe ebay...its the terminal, power wire, ground wire(theyre both the same just diff color) and the remote wire(its just like a 16gauge wire that runs from the cd player or switch). It also comes with oxygen free rca cables as well and power/ground wires

You could just go big and get 1/0 gauge wire.

wellllllllllllllllll thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn :P cranky arnt we

j/p

anyway

for that amp, 4 guage wire will work or you can be a big man and got 1/0 but its not needed

id get 20 feet of power wire and 5 feet of ground (on the safe side)
just depends how long your going
15 feet of remote wire is fine, and its like size 26-28 (cant remember) not 16 :P thatd be some big turn on wire

I really don't/didn't care, it was just abrupt i guess.
I've been getting cables off ebay and only need speaker, remote, and power wires left I guess. After that, on to a box is the last step... hopefully I'll have all the wires ordered/in by tomorrow so I can move on to selecting that bad boy. almost done!...

hell no. that amp is only rated at 200 watts x2 RMS!!! 400 x1 bridged...

my advice on speaker cable is 2 run the shortest/thickest combo possible. on power cables, 16gauge remote turn-on is good but double the thickness of power cable for every 1000 watts of power. 4gauge is good up to 1000 watts RMS to your d-block w/8 gauge to the amps. over 1000 watts, go with 0/1gauge to the d-block & 4gauge to the amps...

^Great! The idea I have thus far is for it to go in the far back of my trunk, ON TOP of my strut bar. I plan on doing this by cutting a notch/slit in the bottom of the box and then closing this off to make an upside-down "U" shape over my strut bar. This way, I will have more trunk space and a tighter fit with less chance of the box sliding around.

For the box itself, I really only need the standard box. I'm thinking slanted sub and amp rack so the 12's aren't pointing directly outward, but have an incline to them so they point "UP" a few degrees with, if possible, an amp rack in the middle. I don't know if it will all fit that way b/c the subs are 25"+ the 14" amp and I only have about 38" from strut-to-strut in the trunk. So I'm guessing I will have to put the amp on top of the box? plus the subs are almost 8" long, so I'll have to make sure they clear the "notch" in the box b/c of the angle the magnets will be facing closer to the bottom of the box. LMK if we can work with this?! Thanks!
