yeah you told me before but it doesn't work. anything closer to 1000 rpms makes it kick worse, so basically, i cant raise the idle.

^^ Let us know if the wrong connection was made due to faulty instructions or just a simple reading error on drucea's part

It was simply the wrong set of instructions used... that was then compounded by some "free thinking..." Drucea saw a wire that was being called out and cut that one.

Remember guys if the instructions don't match in any way stop... don't assume anything. Mitsubishi uses the same color wires on the ecu in more than one spot. You can't assume anything on this.

The correct instructions will be in Drucea's hands tomorrow and all will be well. Now he knows NOT to proceed if the instructions don't match what is in front of you.

THIS is also the reason RRM's phone # is on the instructions and it states not to proceed if things don't seem right...

ok well i reconnected those 2 wires and it runs like normal now. i just figured they were right cause the colors matched the numbers so i guess that was really coincidental. well then i'll be waiting on the instructions. thanks again boe

That's why you should never "THINK" it's right... it either is or you call RRM to ensure it is. There is no "free will" with things like this.

Thumbs up ?!?

Not totally his fault, remember "wrong set of instructions used".

How did this happen? Were the instructions that shipped with the ECU wrong?

hmmm, well, just seems odd to me, cause I got my pb from RRM as well, and it actually came with both sets of instructions, one for auto's & one for manual's. Haven't installed mine yet, considering I don't have any mods on my car in the first place, and I don't think it it would be that much beneficial to put it on till I have some basic mods like intake, header or exhaust first. It's a long story why I have one, but I got one.....lol.

did you you get the new one or the old one? cause the new one i got had instructions for auto and manual too but they were for the 2003 lancer. and when i called rrm, whoever i spoke to said it was the same and to just scratch out the vacuum line part. so i'm just waiting for the new instructions. but hey it learns off new mods like your stock ecu so even having it on a stock car helps a lot, and when you put stuff on later, you'll get more out of it.
