I just tried to do that throttle body mod holy crap i couldn't do it. First this is do-able but right now it's 117 degrees in Rhode Island and i just got from work so my engine by is crazy hot. I was able to get one of the lines off before i couldn't see anymore from sweat in my eyes. So i gave up until like Friday because we have a heat wave and it's going to be over 100 everyday till friday.

I have cold air intake with my auto and I would think that it could be taken one step further and made into ram air. There would have to be some fabricating. Why would auto make a difference? Where is the entry point for the air in the front of the car? I think I'm missing something here.

i thought it came from the driver front fender and up.
but on the auto the transmission is in the way, at least thats what i thought. Im sure it could be done, but there would be more bends and it might now be worth it.

this is my setup, picture this...

Injen Cold Air Intake system for a M/T. Just remove the pipe going down to the bumper and just attache the filter at the end of the MAF. So it's running right next to the battery pointing towards the grill of the car. Basically where the stock plastic dam would be, but i removed that along time ago. I'll take a picture when I can to show you..

I'm mostly messing with you. But you can't not do something just because it looks hard to do, you know? If that was the case no one would ever do anything to their car. I think digdat turned his battery sideways to get clearance for a 3" duct. I could be wrong.

I don't have nothing after the filter. It's just sitting there. Pointing towards the front of the car. So as I go air comes through the Grilll and hits the Filter.. pretty simple. It's just an intake...

removing in a few weeks since I"m going turbo.

Speaking of moving the battery i'm thinking of placing the battery where the stock evo puts it. In that spot next to the fuse box. However it looks liek the stock battery is a little too big and wouldnt fit under the hood. I'm just gonna buy some sheet metal, make a little box and make some brackets, and just screw it right into that location. It will give me more room to fabricate up an intake for my turbo, instead of the 2x90 degree bends i have now putting the filter next to the UIC pipes. I've never really read into batteries though, if i needed a smaller battery can i just go out an buy one that fits in like a civic or something? No real huge difference between batteries right? I know stupid question, but i just need something a little shorter

See that's a mod I"ve been thinking about doing as well. I have a yellow top and it seems like it could fit but haven't tried it yet. I'm gonna give it a shot and see if it's possible.
Couldn't we use an Evo battery tray and put it there for support... maybe it could screw in somehow.. just theory.. this would be ideal for auto's
