This is a more accurate picture of what Wallesasuaz displayed earlier. It's an AEM CAI for a manual; I only used the piping that goes between the TB and and MAF.

The picture I posted is not even my car. Its something I chopped up real quick. As for the MAF in my car, It's actually face up like it would look stock. But, I believe that this setup is far more the best i've seen for our automatic cars.
even though, it seems Accolade is coming w/ a CAI for our Autos... there's a thread somewhere.

I believe we're all MTs in that thread. There's gotta be some way to get cooler air to the filter in an auto- that may require hood venting....

most likely. the best way ive seen is the one i just did.
which is get a piece of galvanized sheet metal (as non-conductive as possible) fashion a heat shield with a hole in it, place it between the battery and throttle body,and stick the stock air duct/funnel in the hole. it seems to work well.
I was thinking of getting a hood duct, but i dont think it would look to good.

i had a brainwave about that throttle body coolant bypass thingy.
i was thinking how else to insulate the throttle body from the heat of the engine without actually wrapping it in insulation, then i though, what about insulation foam.
you know the crap you get in a bottle, stick it in something and spray, it all foams up then expands to fill the space. If you spray that inside where the coolant ran around the throttle body, wouldnt that help insulate it? keep the outside heat.....out.
whatcha think? do able or totally rediculous?
