Ckeck it out guys just to give you an idea how cool having an evo ecu is. Here is a pic in ecuflash, the map in the foreground is my stock ecu high octane fuel map. Now in the background is my new evo high octane fuel map with tephra v7 mod BIG MAPS interpolated and scaled for my car crazy huh?

Ok so I am starting to think the car gods hate me honestly. So I got my ecu today popped it in swapped the pins already had the rom setup to flash right in and.... Nothing , My pins I swapped are correct, I tried with the tephra rom and nothing, so I flashed back the original with all the nessasary changes for my car and still nothing , flashed in the same rom senate is using with all the changes and still nothing Any ideas would be great, everything seems to be flashing fine , Also I am getting a DTC saying IAT and crank signal is not there which I assume has to be causing my no start but why , Crank sensor and everything else is fine I slapped back in my stock ecu and she fired right up WTF!!!!?????? Any ideas would be awesome not quite sure what to try next I looked at the ecu itself no busted pins or anything

So just to recap - with the Evo ECU flashed with a stock ROM, you swapped the wires, disabled the immobilizer and copied over the necessary MAF/injector values? Are you 100% sure you swapped the correct wires? I don't see anything that you missed in your steps.

Correct senate. I am absolutely positive on the pins. This came out of a wrecked evo so my only thoughts are something fried it in the crash as I know it had not been tested since.

That's not good. It's sounding more and more like the ECU might be the issue. When you turn the key ON do you hear the fuel pump kick on?

Outside of the ECU being bad itself, the only other things I can think of are the periphery bits were edited improperly, the stock ROM you are flashing isn't truly stock or the immobilizer wasn't correctly disabled. Outside of that I'm out of ideas. Sorry.

Its all good thank you for the assistance senate. I tried 3 different stock roms, all the periphery bit came up fine just like the other ecu I had (man at least the other one started the car haha). If the immobilizer was still active would it throw that crank signal code? Also does this matter that i put the perphery bits in the evo7base.xml? I had put them straight into the tephra xml the first time I flashed this ecu with no result but I mean the table is in ecuflash and all the same number and letters came up like the other ecu I had

couple things:

1) is there a list or can we generate a list of evo ecu part #'s that have been installed by people and we know work. After 03lances problem, I don't want to go through a half dozen ecus.

2) is there a specific evo maf people are using with their turbo setups? i saw somewhere in here someone was wanting to use an evo x, but should we stick with viii oris there some advatage/disadvantage of going ix or x?

3) i guess from reading the whole thread that this negates the need for an engine management or fuel management system in the car once turbo'd? I currently have the turbo xs DTEC unit in my car and was planning on using it for fuel control when i put my 16g in this spring. So,if I dothe evo ecu swap, can i tune enough stuff in there and get rid of my dtec?

Looks like the two most popular mafs are the eclipse 501 and the evo 399 the evo VIII and IX are the same maf I am running one out of a IX. Yes doing the evo ecu swap and using ecuflash you will be able to tune for pretty much anything. As for the ecu just make sure you get one out of a 2003-2004 evo (and I reccommend getting a guarantee its not fried) and you will be good to go
