got it. do you have to swap pins 8 and 22 to get it to read the rom or can you just leave the pins as is in the connector and read it that way?

The P0069 code is typically an indication of a bad MAF or bad MAP sensor. You can disable it via the periphery bits. However disabling it wouldn't be a good idea if there is actually a problem with one sensor or the other.

I use Notepad++, but any basic code editor would serve the same purpose.

Oh crap don't know why I was thinking the cel was a common problem when flashing these Ecus sorry. Crap looks like I will have to reinstall my stock ecu and see if the code trips again. If so then I will contact who I bought the maf from and tell him its a dud

kinda off the wall but will the evo 8 ecu work on a 1g talon/eclispe? a buddy of mine just got his 1g n/a swapped with a turbo'd 4g63. i had mentioned using an 8 ECU but wasnt sure if it would work.

Ok so I have found through various tests that my ecu is what is tripping the code and all my sensors including my new maf is fine. Anyone know if the 05 evo8 has different map settings than the 03 or 04? Couldnt really find much in the ecuflash forums although not sure how to word it either.

Glad you got it squared away. The pin swap is critical as your fuel pump won't turn on if they aren't swapped.
