Basing HP figures from one car model to another car model may not reflect the accurate gains. H&A cyl head work has been known to grant huge HP gains. That's the nature of Vtec taking advantage of cyl head work. All 4 bangers work and perform a tad differently from one another.

PnP, depending if it's 3 or 5 angle grind (for V8's, I have read people going 6-8 angle), will not net you much HP by itself or w/ just bolt-on stuff. Cam work by itself will gain much needed HP, but its potential is a tad hamstrung like running in a marathon w/ a head cold. PnP + cam work will give you the greatest potential.

Whew, lucky, this thread wasn't too uber long to read.

Remember for TB. Anything bigger than 60mm, you are having bigger TB than a 1g DSM. It's going to be all on the top end. Look at ebay for Q45 TB . . . imagine your stock size of your TB, DSM's, and the whale size whopper for the Q45. Yes, a V8 can handle that much air.

Any engine can benefit from more air. Running too top heavy, advance your timing and move that to the lower range. That's one benefit of having everything electronically controlled- with an eManage we can adjust timing all over the place to give a nice, consistent powerband. But that's a good word to the wise about the TBs, Baha- too much air in (or out) and you move toward the upper end of the powerband.

The angle grinds are only on the valves themselves IIRC. Any engine will benefit from porting on the intake and port and polish on the exhaust side. engine theory shows that leaving the intake side rough, but more open, helps promote turbulent air and further aids in mixing the air and fuel (which gives a more efficient burn and more stable flame front). Having a polished exhaust port will reduce the buildup of carbon and promotes exhaust flow out of the engine.

SoCal- do you plan to do before and after dynos?

haha.. this makes me sorta wish i still had my lancer. boy i would have done things differently...
good luck with the setup though.. that's a lot of cash to drop for minimal gains. but just remember, every mod done thereafter will (or rather, should) benefit from this. 2.5" piping and a nice intake (maybe something custom.. cf airbox would be fun!) would yield far better results than your usual 9 or so hp.
once again... good luck!

wow, good luck bro! cant wait to see the results. So with all this, what are your other mods? and did it come with an ecu upgrade? if so, what kind. Man I hope you dyno this after u install, or atleast take it to the track for your 1/4. Im so happy, and I dont even got it...heh.

I really think the key to making an N/A lancer fast is ecu, cam and a good p&p. man I hope im right Good luck with everything!!!

let us know bout the progress!

WHAT???? Just PnP alone? I'm expecting similar #'s on a big block V8. I don't think either the G93 and G94 (same head but different cam profiles) are that clogged to gain that much . . . much less at wheel, from estimation +50 flywheel HP!!!!!! Nor it's a Vtec head.

what ecu upgrade would that be? remember, the ecu was optional according to the company i believe, so for cars like civics its a given, but not necessarily lancers

bump for results and actual dyno sheet. i can't imagine a NA upgrade creating so much HP, at the wheels no less. 30 at the wheels would amaze me, but this... hard to believe.

i guess you got a dyno run done before you had this installed, what was the number you put down and in what gear, and the hp claim after install was it done in third?
