every time it was brough up there was that thing about how the crank and stuff is all ocming out the wrong side but the new evo the crank comes out the rightand everything else faces the right
im gonna look into this some more it be nice for the lancer to have some seriouse power like that who knows. . . .

I'm actually workin with a perfomace shop to get that motor in my Lancer. They told me that it's a direct bolt on, but I will have to change my tranny. They are still doin some research so I can get this done.

i dunno about direct bolt in one fo the things i noticed was the right side (pasengerside) motor mount is a diferent type its like the three mounts in the lancer front, rear, tranny, but the pasenger side motor mount in the lancer is a cylender or drum type whatever you call that one and it bolts to the chassi on the evo its like th others and its welded in diferently so who know

This is just a question. Is it worth the money to buy an engine, turbo, tranny, brakes, and installation. Plus your going to have to tell your insurance about it in case you total your car. Why not take all that money and put it down on a faster car?

Don't forget an ECU to control all that mess and the necessary wiring harness adaptations.

Actually, you're right about the engine facing the right side, which is also mentioned before. However the major problem is the mounts, and frabrication if you elected to go AWD.

Please do not type in all caps.

It would be the EVO I-III 4G63 that will fit into a DSM with less modification. If you are really interested, click on the link in my signature to read more...

i gave up on my swap project before evo came hear thinking the engine on evo8 would be opposite way but it's not... who knows?? but research is allways better than listening to what everyone else says.
No offense but i'm tired of hearing "click this link and read about it," or "just by an evo" in every swap post on this forum every last one go check if you don't believe me!
Neither of those responses ever anwer anythings.
On top of that, if you oz owners keep telling people not to do it then how are we ever going to find out how much it acctually cost, what gains ? problems? etc....
Yes there are two shops i believe that have done swap allready but those are acctual engineers that works with big racing teams that works at those shops so hell ya they'll quote big prices ( $10K) what on earth else do you expect !?

ok so my point being ...
SHOW SOME DAMN SUPPORT ALLREADY !!!

M3 STYLELA,

Reason. Most of the Evo swapped have been done on the 5g mirages by docs or lawyers w/ tons of money. They spend most of their time on the show circuit, tricking DSM'ers that they have the real deal instead of conversion. Don't believe me, check the firewall tag.

Besides, Lan Evo's link info is the best that I have ever seen on the net. A lot of money, time, and effort. Also, most mechanics rather work on H&A swap, because it's easy. Evo swaps? How many exist in the US since the E4? Probably less than 50 swaps.
