If he could accelerate to a higher speed before installing the body kit, the problem is clear. Again, I doubt any torque loss produced by the addition of an exhaust system would be significant enough to cause a dramatic lose in top speed. We are literally talking about 1-2 ft-lbs, and even then it's only during the low RPM range.

There is no way a base lancer can have a high top speed unless turbo'd or major bolt-ons ( like headers, full exhaust, CAI, and etc) but still they would reach around 120.
well i was reading this when it was started monday night it was so i said i will try to go that fast 120 since i have only went 100
well i must say it got up and went to 120 no prob
bone stock right now 05 ES i am happy and like the one said in a quote it goes 90 in 4th gear so you got all 5th,,, and that is what i had left too i am addong some SRI next week and i will update on that
late

Sorry, I should have specified past 6k in 5th gear. The rev limiter is still set at 6,250 on the ECU

If you are talking about the RRM Piggyback there are slight differences in the old versions (that you could buy off someone on here or on Ebay) and the new one. RRM has threads with all the information about each one in them, just do a search.

Without direct comparison Dynos for stock exhaust vs. larger aftermarket exhaust you can't make that claim. Even the amount of TQ isn't that dependant on what I'm saying, here is what I'm talking about:

Dyno results from a Lancer with an large aftermarket exhaust- notice that the PEAK TQ ends about 4,200

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...chmentid=46875

Dyno results from my Lancer, with comparable mods to the car above except with stock exhaust, notice that my peak TQ ends about 4,700

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/at...chmentid=89420

So if a cars acceleration follows the TQ curve (this is every car, every time) and you need TQ to overcome air resistance and rolling resistance then having your peak torque ending earlier in the powerband means...... lower top speed.

You have to look at one car, and notice changes that way. Comparing car to car is very difficult.

i never said i could go past 6000 rpms... however like i said according to your reasoning i should be shifting at 4200k rpms b/c after that tq drops and i cant accelerate anymore. an exhaust again will only lose lowend tq.... and again last time i checked you dont go 100 in 2k in 5th gear so he loss from the exhaust should not limit his top speed.

and where did you get those graphs from? it looks like a 5 year old made the second one, not to mention ive not seen anyone crank out that much hp NA like in the first...

edit: **** my old *** nissan stanza beater can do 100 and its got maybe 90hp and maybe 90tq to the wheels
