ok problem has gotten significantly worse. instead of missing just once or twice in high rpms, it sputters and wont accelerate whenever i go above 3/4 throttle at almost any point in the rpm. PLEASE HELP! i would like to figure this out before i replace the head and pistons.

 

well, finally pulled the codes and no misfire code whatsoever, im at a loss. replaced the pcv valve as well.

 

DIdnt read the whole post (actually just read the last two posts), but what plug wires do you have? Sounds like they could be the culprit.

 

i have magnecor and stock. it does it with both. the magnacor looks like they were arcing due to the orangeish residue on the boots, but no noticible residue on the stock ones.
