sorry ive been outta the loop for so long fellas...

im into soooo much out here in socal thats i mught have to clone
myself soon...lol

anyway...

no, you cannot use the g94 ecu n harness. as for converting to 5-speed.
HONESTLY, idk know EVERYTHING that is required cuz i had a 5 speed OZ... so it was all just drop in and plug in 4 me. as for the g64 having high compression (some1 asked me that in a pm), u got an eclipse motor (yes its also in so many OTHER cars and variants-lol) and a GOOD aftermarket support for that motor. i am workin out a deal with Crower to produce the cam gear that i had before so that you guys can just order it directly from crower, but for now (since there isnt a big demand for this) i am taking in cams for regrinds to my FI/NA spec grind on the g64 cam. im going to sell the for $325 OR $225 if you give me your stock cam shaft for he g64 aswell. that covers shipping too!

you CAN boost on that motor (except for superchargers- i dont think the will fit in the lancer...the specs are for 3rd gen eclipse chassis-although if someone wants to try it out for the rest of us...g'head.) but i wouldnt go over 7 pounds on stock internals. BUT, if you mate the g63 head, then its open game once again cuz now the evo world is at your disposal...the 2.3 stroker is THE ONLY WAY to go if you do THAT swap tho. i am looking for a GOOD lancer shell car right now, cuz im planning on doing this AGAIN. the funds are almost up to par with everything else so i MIGHT have the coin to start this up once again...

Hey rpm_ruffryders,
I just finished reading the 26 pages...props to you for all of the HARD work and research on behalf of everyone. One question I do have for you though...if you were to do it all over again, would you stick with the 4G64, or would you give another block a try? If so, which one?
Thanks again,
jody-z

pics on the first page are now back up...damn photobucket! lol

as for the Outlander motor...after doing some research into it...

you CAN NOT do it because its the same engine in the Ralliart Lancer ('04-'06)...
so it would be the same hassles as getting that engine in and dealing with the minimal aftermarket support for that motor adn STONE WALLING yourself with that single cam motor. with the G64 you have the option of sticking with that motor as a sohc or mating it with the G63 and going dohc.

oh, and I AM going to redo this project. im looking for a lancer shell as we speak. and NO, i wouldnt go with any other motor due to cost efficiency.

thanks for the kind words guys...i wish i could do more to help you guys tho.

So....when you coming to Florida to work on mine? lol, also, I wanted to ask you why does this swap take so long? It seems like a drop in to me, more or less the things that seem to take a while are the wiring harness and things like that

thats the ONLY major pain...like all swaps that havent been done in excess and someone comes along with a conversion harness.

but as fast as you can work thru the wiring headache, then its all pretty much plug n play (as long as you follow the instructions on page one.)

as for going to florida...when you flying me out!?!?!?lolz

Well dude, my tranny bugged out, so I think I am going to be getting rid of my baby I think I'm going to be switching to an RSX or a WRX, but I'm not entirely sure. Maybe I can just use this time to do the swap AND change the tranny. I just don't have all the funds I need right now. Nor do I have the ability to upgrade the suspension. *sigh*

ok so i know i'm coming in waaaaayyyy late (this was a lot of reading lol) but i love this thread. i've got everything planned out to start the swap in october the only question i wanted to pose was about the transmission. i know on the first page that you said the internals needed to be swapped by a prof. well my uncle owns an auto shop and my dad used to be a mechanic but they are used to working on domestic cars. my uncle said we could go ahead and give it a shot at switching out the internals but i wanted to know if u think we should or should i just hip the extra bucks and get someone a little more versed on the matter to do it. o and rpm ruffryders i was wondering if you could still help me get that crower cam shaft or tell me a place i could maybe find one thanx

i have one thats getting ready to be sent to CROWER for a regrind...
im working out the pricing right now...but it'll be like $325 for a CROWER REGRIND CAM (with out the core exchange) and like $235 for the same CAM (WITH a core exchange). THESE WOULD BE FOR 4G64 (SIX FOUR) CAM SHAFTS. you wouldnt be able to find this cam anywhere cuz, well, its a custom grind. Crower does custom regrinds on cams if you provide the specs. and thats what i did.

as for the tranny...its simple, really- if you have worked on motors and tranyy's before. your uncle and dad can do it. shouldnt be too hard for them. just make sure you replace the rear main seal that WILL HAVE TO BE broken to open her up. but thats like a 5-6 dollar part. i didnt want to take any chances and had a tranny shop do it for me. ran me like 200 bucks.
