question about 4g64 - no one seemed to know the answer to my question..
auto 02 lancer.. can u swap an auto 06 outlander motor/trans into the lancer? (or do u need to swap out the trans, lancer trans on the outlanders, or is the outlander trans fine as is..)
was thinking about swapping out to a manual. but figured it might be to big of a problem.

well first off...the 3rd gen eclipse COMES WITH THE 4G64, so to them its just a matter of mating the G63 head with their G64 block. with the Lancer...the tranny mount is different (as stated waaaay earlier) and the passenger side motor mount needs to be fab'd (again...this was staed in like the first page).
as for the Outlander...I got your PM. But like I said, its something to look into because when I did this swap, there were no Outlanders. Things might have just gotten easier. or not? idk...but like I said, its worth looking into.
A bit of an extremely silly question, but I have been looking into doing a swap for my '03 OZ for awhile, and was looking at doing a 4G63 from an Eclipse GST (But was scrapped, found out that it would be a major pain.) One of the issues that came up with it though, was the engine size itself.
So, my question is, if I throw in (if only it were that easy...) this 4G64, will I still have room in there for a turbo to physically fit?
Also, do we have anybody else that went through with this swap? A shame that RPM's Lancer was needed elsewhere. =(

the 167hp AT THE WHEELS if with all the bolt ons that i listed. header, intake, cam, etc. the manifold is stock.
I know that if i tune it properly i can squeeze another 10-18 hp may be.
the RA's motor (4G69) has MiVec and a throttle by wire system that wouldnt sit right with the non RA lancer.
This swap is the best "bang 4 the buck" IMHO.
and the after market support for the 4G64 is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than that for the G94.
start swappin them engines b4 junk yards know what we're doin and start chargin us what they charge the honda guys for their motors!!!

I'm gonna have to say that you CAN add the turbo, but now you have to treat your car like it's an eclipse pretty much. Because you have a completely different engine, so you're gonna have to do to that car what you have to do to any other 4G64 engines.
NO sir I am afraid not, it is a completely different engine. The car would not start, and if by some chance u get it to work, it won't be properly working. But it wouldn't work, which is why you need to find every piece if you want this to work, don't take shortcuts when it comes to engine swaps bro, it's dangerous thinking
