Old News!! 4G64 Swapped Into A 2002 Lancer
Thanx for the clarifications, lol, do you see quite the commotion you have caused for the past 14 pages?! Where have you been to discontinue this uproar? Thx for clarification on all of this, I was on the verge of doing a g63 swap, had the salvaged evo and everything, BUT, to save bucks, and time, I will do this direct swap of an engine, thx again. By the way, exhaust and headers? watsup with them, they have to be custom?
i saw the Bat Signal and came as fast as I could. lol
you know...if you still have that evo you can use it for the upgrades to the G64 swap.
as for the header (no "s") and exhaust... well an exhaust sits at the end of the pipe, so any will do. I had a Magnaflow exhaust (nice deep throaty sound-not all ricer). The header is another story. I used the (NON CARB LEGAL) DC Long Tube Race Header. I had to have it shrunk down to size a bit, because its made for the chassis of the eclipse (longer). But its a reduction in size so when you get that header installed, just let the shop know and they can fab it up for ya. btw...I didnt HAVE TO fab the header because I ran w/o a cat. But I KNEW that once I had to take it to the State Ref to have it made into certified legal swap I would need one, so I planned ahead and did it to accomodate a magnaflow high flow cat.
wow, nothing is just a simple answer huh...lol
hahaha..."uproar".lol

No, I guess that we are all stuck with the weird answers that come with an engine swap. I guess I will use it for upgrades, heh, I forgot about the head, I need to get that off, and get it mated with the g64, I noticed that you found ur block for like 500 bucks, junkyard, online store, hit and run and stole an engine? How'd you do it, lol. I keep finding g64's in my area for no less then 1k, and that's how much I bought the salvaged evo for

bro we are on the same page.. very similar projects! im doing a g63 big turbo and a bottle.. im bulletproofing the engine right now... im in Miami .. ur in orlando.. i say when we're done we'll meet up...
ps... i LOVE the fact that i have a choice of products now... no more depending on rrm or rpW!!! i visited the HKS website for the 1st time

OR, lol, we can help each other with the engine swaps. Liiiiiiiike, maybe you have a junkyard down in Miami that would have the g64 block for less than 1k, and lemme know about it, so I can sprint down there, lol. My thing right now is that my engine is over 100k, so I think it's time to swap it out. Then I'll bring all the parts from the evo that I want to put on my car, and bam, we can roll together, maybe you could help me with the tranny swap that I'm half @$$ed confused about
1. if u search for a dodge stratus. (or any american DSM with a 4g64) it will be alot cheaper!! but in miami theres soooo many junkyards its rediculous lol... did you try searching www.car-part.com ???
2. my friend and i are running an all dsm crew down here... he's like an evil genius when it comes to
swaps... i can definitely hook u up with him and we can get this done!

Nevermind the fact that you may be falling into a situation that MAY render all the stuff you're still planning on buying from RRM to nothing more than wasted purchases.
I'm not online as much as usual due to my housing situation, but anyone with 4G63 swap questions can PM me or anything. It's not that hard or impossible of a swap. Bastardizing a 4G64 is not as easy as people make it seem. Custom internals etc etc.
(sigh) Once again, my questions get lost in all the redundant questions of "can we do a head swap and what header were you using?"...

why would there bee fitment issues with a STRUT bar? ur NOT swaping suspension.
and abs...you dont touch that either...so what is your question?
Also, depending on where the ABS unit and lines are located, shoehorning a new motor in could create a problem (in the department of spatial relations).
Don't talk down to someone unless YOU know what they're talking about....
FSB can hit the motor. Some of the lower eBay ones hit the stock IM, if you haven't noticed.

Now those of you that have these components and are doing the swap, whacha gonna do with all those parts you can't use anymore??
Looks like this newbie knows a thing or two......
As far as who cares, I care. I don't have a lot of money to be doing mods twice. Which is why I started looking on here. RPM's total spending actually costs LESS than an RRM turbo kit. And he was about matched in hp.
No confusion, just legit questions. RPM drove an OZ, I have an LS. As far as I know, only the LS comes with ABS. This gives me a unique problem, as Blacksheep put it, in terms of space relations within the engine bay. If I have serious territory disputes with the various components of the new engine and my ABS, then this is going to cost me more than expected.
