I should be the same on the car, the one that bolts to the tranny is different because its a different tranny.

No it's just a different car. There are times when I miss my lancer. For one, I could go more than 500 km on a 60 l tank of premium. For the cost of one refill in my WRX I could go over 1000 km in my lancer and still have plenty of fuel left. The lancer was also easier to drive slow and smoothly and it was easier to park (smaller turning circle).

couple of things:

fwd cars under 300 - 400 hp are still managable with lsd suspension work etc, maximas tls and some other cars have demonstrated that

and people doing these things need to do more research buy shop manuals etc it will give you a better idea about what you are getting into. and do some other basic research on there own all the specs are available if you go out and look at all this stuff and do some theoretical calculation you should be able to get a better idea of what to expect.

i think some1 said make a file ! good idea read the first page 50% or more of this thread is rehash of the intial post and if you are gonna do a swap than dont expect to be fed everything be a bit creative come for help not to be fed.... and plz dont get offended especially by the op when he is doing this solely to help you ..............

actually...you can...there are only like 2 wires that are different from the G94 to the G64...BUT, the ONLY REAL difference is the programming. but then again...a good tune will override that. still, if you CAN get the ecu. get it. if not, then ur embarking into a whole 'nother world...

no. NOT TRUE. please see the FIRST PAGE. total cost is there and thats WITH aftermarket bolt-ons! so, no. that statement is NOT TRUE.

Hondas are also famous for swaps.

on the other hand, is not famous for swaps. All the motors are different, they're all placed in the car differently, etc. It's just not as user-friendly to swap.
the way you are thinking is what DUMBestic car owners told the first honda tuners that first started swapping engines. not "FAMOUS"...maybe...but they DO have a history of swapping out motors...ask a mirage owner or galant owner. the lancer is a relatively new car to THE U.S. and ALOT of people underestimate it because they either fear what they dont know or they just dont know. REAL "tuners" think OUTSIDE the box. although it MIGHT not be easier than other cars...it IS possible and NOT hard at all IF you know what you are doing.

and actually, that is wrong too...the OZ Rally wasnt designed with fuel economy in mind. THE PLATFORM is/was...but thats why there are different trim levels. just look at the RA. Amby, you doubt SOOO much yet dont seem to support your doubts with any PHYSICAL proof. you are good at posting and shooting down those that are easily taken by your comments, but both here on evom AND SCLC have you been flamed for such comments. I wont flame. I encourage it, that way I can put down any false fears or concerns regarding WHAT I KNOW. and 1 thing i DO KNOW is that this is THE swap to do on your lancer. you drive a suby aswell..good going. now you have a car that was designed to fail.

so hows your car running since the swap? I'm curious about reliability and any problems that may arise from an engine swap. Anything so far?

The mount that is weilded to the car is the same on all lancers for the tranny. Its the mount that bolts to the tranny that is different. When you get a 5 speed, make sure it comes with the mount. That mount should bolt right up the the one weilded inside the engine bay. Since it is the same on all lancers, it should work for what ever tranny you have whether it be 4g93, 4g63t, 4g64 and 4g69. The mount you need for the engine side you can get the that bolts up to an outlander or the ralliart lancer. They should be a direct bolt in to my knowledge. Ask diavlo, he would have that answer.
