Does the 4G64 crank position sensor send the same signal as the 4G94 one does? Also, are you still running the 4G64 ECU? The Evo immobilizer disable code does not work for the 4G64 ECU. You run the risk of damaging the ROM by flashing it on there.

As I have said before, to the best of my knowledge, nobody has been unable to disassemble the periphery bits for the 4G64 ROM to disable the immobilizer. As such, you will not be able to start your car. It will crank, but not start - the same as you are experiencing. Your best bet is to use the Evo ECU and disable the immobilizer bits.

Ok current updates, I have decided there is not enough help / technical resource in the 3g eclipse world , and 1 out of every 250 people on all the 3g forums I joined knew anything about performance , and the ones that did werent willing to share there information...

I went ahead and got a lancer evolution ecu and swapped it in, using senates how to so the imobilizer issue is solved , and since the there is a few people already running the evo ecu in there eclipses this should be a bolt and go affair.

I have begun cleaning/disassembling the motor and tranny , and the plans are to use the factory lancer harness , with the lancer evo ecu ....

keep the updates, take some photos, do it as you go. Most people tend to say i'll post photos when it's ALL done. Don't do that because you'll disappear and we'll never hear from you again.

You need to get on AIM so that we can talk about this, I have a friend who could probably do this for himself.

Depending on what happens here...will help me make a decision for my car. I wish I could take your engine, but you live TOO far!

Also, are you manual or are you automatic?

i am manual, I went out tonight and turn some more wrenches... Ill have more to come soon I took some pictures, senate I need to know about the axle research you were doing I found out the eclipse driver side is definately to long the passenger side fits quite well although it is about 1/2inch to an inch longer than the lancer axel I wonder if thats going to cause a problem when its on its own weight on the ground... I made a hybrid axel using the lancer shaft and the inner eclipse hub but I dont really want to use it...

I'll save you the time on diciphering the other 50% of the harness... it's the same as the Lancer.

Onto a more serious note, I've come with with a solution to use the 4G64 tranny in the swap without swapping the internals from the Lancer trans. Well, half of a solution really. Here's what I got so far:

The main difference between the 4G64 and 4G94 transmissions is the differential. The 4G64 and 4G69 transmissions use the same differential. The 4G69 and 4G94 axles use the same outer CV. This is evident in that the front spindles are the exact same (see my thread on 5-lug conversion: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/la...part-list.html).

See where I'm going with this? The 4G69 driverside axle has the same inner CV as the 4G64, the same outer CV as the 4G94 and the same axle length as the 4G94. Long story short - Ralliart driverside axle is a direct swap to use the 4G64 transmission.

As far as the passenger side, I'm still working it out. Easiest route might be to simply pick up another Ralliart driverside inner CV and swap it out on the Lancer passenger side axle. I'm still working on comparing parts/diagrams in the Mitsu parts catalog to see if this is a go or not.

I'm sure this info would be more than valued on the build how-to on page 1.

Thank you senate you are a god I will be buying a set of these tommorow... what year ralliart do i need to get them from?

I hate being frikin automatic. I wish it was easy to do the manual swap, but there are NO junked lancers near me.
