Power loss

Lately my 08 lancer has been driving like ***. It doesn't have the pull above 3000 rpms that it had and it is more likely to bog down in the low rpms. There is also a definate change in exhaust/intake/engine noise right around 3200 rpms that was never there before. It almost sounds like a have an intake which is kind of weird because my car is completely stock. I have only 20000 miles on my car I don't think that stuff like this should be happening so early in the life of the car. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? Any help is appreciated.

faulty coilpack? Sparkplugs? Massive vac leak, like around the tb/manifold area? If its an 08 take it to a good dealer and have them figure it out warranty ftw.

The bog issue is a known problem - the dealership needs to flash your ECU. Or, since you did mention more noise, did you change your air filter recently? Sometimes not closing the air box all the way will cause similar symptoms.

Is there a secret to getting it to close right? I did recently check my air filter and I thought i closed it right but the signs are pointing to no. Ill play around with it tomorrow and see if it is the problem.

I should check my air box tomorrow. I took it to jiffy lube to get an oil change and they checked my air filter and now it sounds really cool as if I have an intake installed, but its completely stock so I should close it properly.

Problem solved. Those bottom clips are a *****. I didn't even notice they were there and the air filter appeared to be seated properly.
