4G94 Engine Build!

I bought a 4g94 motor and i'm playing on rebuilding it. I have a 2003 OZ rally Stage 2 RRM turbo.
I bought a full motor from a junk yard so my ride will have zero down time. The only down time will be swapping.

Any one have any thoughts on what cam to use and what bore pistons? and so on...
I have a $4000 budget.

Help me out.

My goal would to be boosting 25psi.
I even thought about doing a twin turbo. Any thoughts on that?

25 PSI on what turbo? You don't have a lot of options out there as far as parts are concerned. All the rods are basically the same (ie. none add more power or anything like that), piston wise I'd go with stock bore if you plan on boosting a lot and for a cam, the only option is the RPW stage 2 turbo cam.

Why not a larger bore for the pistons? Will i have to change my valve springs and cam gear with a stage 2 cam?

Yes you'll have to change the valve springs for the cam and a cam gear is a good idea. A larger bore reduces the size of the walls in the engine which isn't a good idea if you want to run 25 PSI of boost.

RPW can make any camshaft profile you want and is not limited to the stage 2 turbo camshaft.

our cars are not "big enuf" for a twin turbo. a 16g or t25 is plenty spool for a 4g94. i aslo think 25 psi is a little much considering our trannies can only handle about 250 hp, and with most setups ive seen here on the forums we are doing 200-220 hp as it is and thats with about 10lbs of boost i think

Bingo, a twin setup would be ridiculously expensive for the little gains (if any). Unless you're running an absolutely massive turbo, I see no reason to introduce a restriction like another turbo into the equation, let alone the tuning fiasco it would create. You should probably look to see what transmission upgrades are available for your car, no point in shooting for 400 HP if the transmission can't take it.

But still that would be a lot of extra weight and is used more for much higher HP cars. I don't think the Lancer, even fully built, would stand enough power to be worth going that direction.
little more info i found

If you are serious about boosting big psi, I would look into a piston / rod combo that can accommodate a bigger wrist pin.

1. you could go get an g63 motor for big gains
2. drop a dual cam g92 head on the g94 bottom
just some ideas
Or I would just do an rod and piston combo and boost it about 15-18 pounds on a stand-alone ECU. graba a bigger throttle body and Intake manifold, with a fully built head. keep it light weight and least restrictive. Keep in mind not being sponsored, and haveing a budget is a place we are all in. So don't forget about the errors and such along the way. to do what others haven't done takes alot of research and trial hours or days. Most improtantly make sure you have fun in the process!
