Question throttle body screw

has anyone messed with that screw on the top of the tb? i got the injen intake and my freind tried to convince me that i wasnt getting enough air or fuel or something, so of coarse he take a screw driver to it and now im messiing with it... well... i must say that there is a change when i back the screw out, intake isnt as loud and i think ( i said i think ) that it performs a slight better. would anyone know what i should leave it at?

im not sure about EFI (im new to it) but on a carbrated system they had screws that determed how much O2 vs. Gas were mixed into the carb......i am not sure if EFI is the same way or not, this is a good question for Rob AKA Rock on the forums....PM him

the oen under the screw is the idle ajustment screw on the tps (throttle positioning sensor) dont mess with it it only screws witht he idle speed on your car but it is an exsternal mod the ecu is suposed to take car of idle speed

Idle Speed COntrol

That screw is manuel air bleed bypass idle speed control and works in conjunction with the ISC motor to control idle speed.

If you have already messed with it then do the following (No drastic problems to worry about minor adjustment only)

Get the car hot to normal operating tempature.

Screw that screw all the way down till it bottems out (Don't force it though nice and light till it stops)

At this point your car should probably be hunting up and down or plain stall out.

If the car is not stalling and idling like normal leave it where it is. If it is playing aruond then unscrew the screw a quarter of a turn at a time until the car returns to a normal idle speed being approx 750 rpm ( I am not sure of the exact base idle speed for the lancers in the USA).

The car does control the idle speed but really only on startup )Ie fast idle), air conditioning and when you have accelerated hard and back off in a hurry to stop it stalling out.

watch out for 1 thing

the idle on a cold lancer engine is surprisingly high, and loud as ****, so u better let it warm up for prolly 10-15 mins and see if it's around liquidlancers specs..

In the pacific rim countries, the Lancer name also encompasses the US Mirage name while the mirage overseas is a HB like the famed cyborg.

Mitsubsihi Models

It can get confusing IN Australia we have

The Mitsubishi Lancer in the 4G93 and the 4G15 motor
THe Mitsubishi Mirage in the 4G15 motor

And soon to be released the Mitsubishi Cedia with the 4G94 motor.

The lancer in Australia is the same as your Mirage.
Our mirage in Australia is not the same as your mirage's though.
The mitsubishi Cedia in Australia is the same as the USA Lancer.

The EVO Lancer of course is the same everywhere.

I hope everyone got that.
