Installing new spark plugs = resetting ECU?

I just had a question, i installed some new spark plugs, and it kinda seems like my gas milage is less then it was before, and they were supposed to increase gas milage... Ive seen people say that resetting ecu fixes some stuff when new parts are installed... Is that something i should do? If so how do i do it? thanks.

You shouldn't have to reset the ECU. Check to make sure you plugs are gapped correctly (.43) and that all the plugs got reinstalled firmly.

they always tell me that too, but i double check anyways. there are always 2 that are off (when i changed them on my old car.... havent done it to the lancer yet though). you should double check just to make sure.

I have the boshe (spelling?) pregapped platinum ones, they have 2 extentions on them if that makes sense... you know at the end of a normal spark plug it has the little metal peice that goes up wher eu set the gap, mine has one on both sides, if that makes any difference.

oh ok you have the bosch... well i guess i'll let someone else answer this then. i've never used those plugs before. i always stick to the traditional single extention ngk's, or denso's.

oh man, i heard nothing good about bosch platinum to be used twith the lancer. the dealer told me that those werent good for the lancer. try denso iridium or NGK. another thing, is the driving any diff? i noticed when i changed mine that the shifts were a tad bit smoother. so maybe the gapping is wrong, or it is the fact that you used bosch.

yeah they told me a LONG time ago that those were horrible for my old acura integra. so i naturally assume they wont be good for my lancer. i've always stuck with ngk and denso. good stuff you can count on.

Dude, same problem with the same sparks, poorer fuel economy and less power, must be the sparks. I'll have to change mine to.
