with the 10.5:1 you would be hitting the valves, but these pistons are designed with that in mind. So when they are made, they leave recesses in the top of the piston so that it will not hit the valves when they are open.

They are releived for t he valves. According to our calcs we could go as high as 14:1 compression. These are best for pump gas.

what is the intrevals? I mean if 9.5 - 10.5 is a few octane points, what would we need for 11 or 11.5? I am just curious, because I would prefer to get the best bang for my buck if you know what I mean, it would help us out alot to get it as high as we could and still use pump gas, more so since this mod helps the whole powerband and not just the low or high end.

When you get into 11 to 1 west coast 91 octane guys may be in trouble. After that it is racegas for people and that is not practical.

you guys have to remember, RRM is based in Cali, who has smog laws and ****, and there gas is different than all of ours, its treated so that it has lower emissions, this is why there gas costs so much more than everyone elses. Also, if I remember correctly, without an octane booster, you can only get 91-92 in Cali, thats when I use to live there 8 years ago anyway. It would be nice to have as high as we could on pump gas because then we can make of the most of our N/A engines and actually have some ***** against T/C and S/C cars. but I guess anything over stock will be nice.

-Jusitn PS we have 93-94 here too!

Hey Rock is it possible to increase the compression even more? Would it be safe and efficient? From what I know my friend's celica gts has 11:5.1 or something like that. Is it possible to do it for our lancers and still use 93 octans?

One off pistons are not going to happen for the same price. 10.5 to 1 will do you.
